Wiring smoked gauges?
Hi, i picked up some gauges and am finally getting round to fitting.
Theyre 2nd hand so no instructions. I gather reds are live and orange goes to lighting wire. But since theyre smoked and will be too dark to see most of the time? Would it be best to wire them so illuminated permanantly when ignition on? Where to take feed? Dash top Clock? Connect red and orange together then wire into suggested live?
Am pretty clueless on wiring really.
Thanks

Boost gauge, red, black and orange.
oil pressure, 2 red, 2 black, an orange and a green.
I think I know what they are all meant to do but it would be handy to know where and which coloured wires to splice into on the car.
cheers.

I'm afraid that's not easy, different cars of the same year can have different coloured wires.
Get yourself one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTRIC-C...item5407ff78ce.
It can then be used to find the correct wires behind the radio, the hazard switch or the clock.
