Bulbs for Blobeye?
Hey guys,
What bulbs does the blobeye take, and where can I get the indicator bulbs for it that flash orange but are silver? Had a look on scoobyworld and couldn't see them. Need them for when I remove the orange bits in the headlights
Cheers

H1 dip, 9005 main, W21W (?) indicators.
PIAA do the indicators, they're called mirror orange and they really are orange when they're on unlike some which are so dim they're downright dangerous in anything except full darkness. The indicators are "wedge type", ask for this and most people will know what you want.

I can say never use Silvatec bulbs, they are positively dangerous during bright day light and can hardly be seen.
Swapped mine over to Phillips Silvervision, these are much better and E marked.
Some people actually give their OEM orange bulbs a little spray dusting of silver paint as well.
Try Powerbulbs BOGOF offer on their own brand which are made by GE. Also a set of free W5W sidelights which give a nice crisp white light as opposed to the yellowish tinge of the OEM's

Agree with Richie, I tried the Silvertec (have some in my cellar if you want them) and they are near invisible on a sunny day. I switched to LED's which were superb, and looked quite trick too

The newer PIAA and Philips silvered bulbs are nearly as good as normal orange bulbs (or white behind orange lenses). The original Silvertec were shocking. I had lots of horns pipped at me and cars almost running into the back end before I changed to LED's. I had to adjust my driving style to compensate by speeding up to open up a gap before I made any turn they were so poor. The LED's stood out much better than even the normal bulbs, and looked quite bling with their instant illumination I doubt very much that Silvertec's were Πmarked. They may have used Πmarked orange bulbs to paint silver, but the finished item I would guess was never tested.

From personal experience and general consensus, they are not as bright as standard bulbs, not even close. Try swapping just one and comparing them in daylight.
I had Silvertec on my Classic and they were fine, seems to be limited to the wedge type bulb.

Are you sure they were Silvertec and on a newage? it's easy to get the names mixed up.

Newage wedge type aren't E marked (just checked on the packet) but Phillips Silvervision are and are much brighter during day time
