Default What does this button do ?

Hi there just been my 2nd day in my 99 type r and there is a button by the i/c spray and im not sure what it does !!!
Its a factory fitted button with A/P and a fan symbol.
Anybody got any ideas. Its in the on position and dont want to turn it off untill im sure !

Strange thought the buttons were IC spray manual, IC spray auto, rear fog?

It COULD stand for Auto Pilot... press it and a big inflatable driver appears and takes full control of the car similar to the Airplane Movies.... but i doubt it

would be a good trick on long journeys or traffic..
Yeah i have not come across it before and upon doing a search could only find one other thread on another site but still no conclusion. There is one theory that its air purifier but think its just a stab in the dark.........

When i got the car it was allready pushed in.. I have turned it of and on now there is a light that sometimes pulses but today was on constant.
Im thinking now that it may not be a factory fitted button its doing my head in..lol..
it does not do anything with any of the fans ! it just dont seem to do anything...
I think the next stage is to trace the wiring.. i think that is the only way around it

i had that button on my type r! could not work out what it did so i turned it into antilag button

looks like a dealer extra mabye, have u tried ringing a subaru dealership to see if they can find out what it may be as at least 2 of you had this fitted to your cars.....

.....mabye, you never know

It hasnt got a heated demister fan at the rear window has it? Some legacys have.

That was my original thought but it does not do anything to the fans !!!

i got that on my hawkeye in spain,
its put the fan on secondary spin up, ie if towing, do you have a tow bar or did it, my fan has two stage,
as for ap not sure, also saw a B4 with one, he had a caravan, that help mate
let me know you cant see know difference, but fan will just stay on sndary speed

i can confirm its an extra, for hot climates or ppl towing,
i just got an email from subaru in spain, saying its an Anti Purculation Fan???
