Default 2002 WRX NBR Japanese Import

I had this posted on Nasioc , but felt its long over due to have it recorded here.

Hi All,

I thought it was about time I did up a build thread on my Impreza, so today I managed to get a few photos before it rained yet again.

First off a bit of background :

Motor tax in Ireland is very expensive for any cars over 2.0 litres. 3 years ago I was driving around in an E46 M3 convertible. Motor tax at the time was costing 1600 euros annually. I was so sick and tired of paying the tax, that I ended up putting the M3 into storage and spending the tax on purchasing the Impreza. This was around the time of the recession really hitting hard here in Ireland, and combined with new laws related to high CO2 emissions, people just didn't want petrol cars anymore, so I was able to get the Impreza for a steal. I didn't expect to fall in love with the Impreza so much, but when I was offered money for the M3, I let it go and have continued since with the Impreza.

Now the Impreza was parked up for about a year in the middle of nowhere in Ireland, and when I came to view it, it wasn't 100% but I could see a diamond in the rough.

The NBR edition, from what I have found out, was a model sold near the end of the Bugeye production in Japan, and basically was a WRX with STI headlights, STI suspension and a raised rear wing and spats/winglets. I believe its 250bhp

You can see the rear wiper, black back window glass, and the way the rear lights, light up different for the Japanese spec. Also integrated radio antenna is in the glass.

Me other hobby

Finally Thanks for viewing and all that, and I know it needs to be lowered, but I'm happy with the current ride height, although I did make a **** up on the tire sizes originally, should have gone for 235/45/17

Nice clean car and an interesting bit of model history too.

Lots of love returning for the bugeye at the moment, would be a good car to keep hold of.

thanks for the compliments folks - need to choose what to mod next now ! I'm thinking 3-piece factory rear diffuser maybe, if I can find it for a decent price.
