It's thought that the car was produced as a memento by and for the workers at Rover, and was never intended to leave the Factory. Though like many of the experimental cars they produced, it found it's way onto the market. So here we have one of the youngest and lowest mileage cars you will ever find.
LOL funny - I bought one the the FDH's he mentions, now everyone was warned at the time rover went bust, that the staff stole lots of unfinished cars and parts and built them at home to make some money.. sounds just like this one :D

i used to have a rover coupe 1.8vvc and i used to work for rover and i know that car is not a 99 they never made them at that age and i bet if you went to rover with chassis number it would come up around 1996.
and they are very nice cars to drive and very quick, they was someone in the club i was in that kicked out over 400bhp and that was quick.

When someone writes an ad. using words such as 'possibly', 'it is thought' and 'intended' I always get a little cynical but, bearing in mind that this was Rover's Swan-song, it's still a pile of Sh**e and is in dire need of scrapping.
I would say 'Torch the f***er and claim on the insurance' but the excess is probably greater than the book value....:P

They are not bad cars, I owned one before my scooby and it was not slow by any means, but living in the real world, I sold mine for £700 with 50k on the clocks and that was registered as a 1998 with british papers. They are just not worth the money, sometimes people just have to have a reality call and I think he is one of them.
