Interestly just had a call back from the dealer regarding the Prodrive springs.
According to IM, they haven't done done any development for the Diesel springs, "once offically released, and demand increases, we may look at development". So much for it being a wrx with a different engine (in the brochure).
That body roll has to go, I will find out if the diesels have the same suspension as a wrx. Then if the answer is yes, I'll get them.
I have just got my car back tonight. The PPP makes a noticable difference, worth every penny IMHO. Definately not up with Rob84 but I am delighted. The springs are absolutely on the money for me. I would love to have it like Rob 84 or STIRigger(Ithink) but that would be a bit much for me day to day. I am very very pleased. BIG BIG difference. As MickP said, the car is transformed, reduced bodyroll in corners is what I have noticed most and in gear acceleration is stonkingly good. I think the ride is better, I always felt it was just a bit too squidgy before.
Drop in ride height? At the front definately. At the rear, not a chance. I would say it looks about 10-15mm higher compared to before the prodrive springs. Should I be worried? If I ask the garage they will say it will settle in. It does not look like MickP's car.
I will get some photos tomorrow and post the before and after side shot and you can let me know if I am wrong.
They also replaced the faulty parking sensors(they came fitted in the car when I bought it). I had nice silver ones that matched the body work. Now they are black and I am absolutely fuming bloody mad about it:ma d:. The car has to go back again!: mad:
Good to hear you have had the work done but the car shouldn't be higher at the back . I would question that for sure. Make contact directly with Prodrive if you don't trust your dealer.
Hope the sensors get sorted. It sounds like your dealer has been hard work given this and the problems you had getting the PPP.
It is only the rear off side that is higher and noticably so, by at least 10mm. I have taken some photos and will upload them when I get a chance. The car feels OK, but should I still drive it?
It is a shame because the PPP and springs are absolutely brilliant. If anyone has a standard STI, and is looking for that little something extra but not too much get the prodrive springs. Then scrape the money together for the PPP. If you want to keep the warranty, I think it is worth it. Definately not up with the likes of Rob84 but it is enough for me.
I just can't turn left out of my sons nursery towards work I have to go in the opposite direction and do a u-turn. Not a problem though, the springs are worth the extra hassle.
I have taken photos of the rear with the parking sensors, they look hilarious.

Have they set the Suspension Geometry when they fitted the springs ??
not that it would make much difference tbh

No idea. I will post the photos after my good lady wife has gone to bed.
I have decided to leave the car on the drive until I get some answers. Will be very interested to hear what everyone thinks.
couple of things that i would get checked, the strut top has been refitted correctly/ the spring is seated in the lower and upper cups properly the right way round.
I wouldnt be happy either so i can understand how you feel about this.
This was it before the springs
After the springs, this side looks alright.
This side, not so much. rear off side is just oh so wrong. I am not after the dragster look
Nice exhaust with awful parking sensors
Splitter is still my favorite bit.
There must be some type of seating issue with that rear spring. Can't believe they fitted it and did not notice Same with the sensors I think your dealer must have closed the quality control department for the day.
I am sure both issues are easily resolved but when you pay £2k they shouldn't need two attempts.
As Rob mentioned it would be wise to get the geometry checked. I went for fast road settings with mine but there are other's.
Just thought we would give you all a few images of our latest demo with 19" OZ's that have just been fitted.
Handles great and no catching either - we had them specially drilled so these are a one off at the moment but looking at putting an order in with OZ Italy very soon if interest is big enough.
Also had all the plastics and chrome type parts all painted gloss black to complement the wheels.
Well about a year or so ago I walked away from impreza's after having 2 new age, had a very comfortable lancer gs4 d tractor for that period but after presseure from the missus (her mid life crisis not mine lol !!) we have done a 400 mile round trip today to pick a new wrx-s up from Scotland, its took a while for the hatch to grow on me. Great drive back, brakes are poor though too much travel, but loving being back behind the wheel.
here is my sti 08 with some mods just carried out
mods so far Whiteline front and rear 22mm anti adjustable bars
18 x 8.5 et 35 rota torque drifts on 255/35/18 toyo t1r
