Off next sunday for the first time (at least to watch the F1) and fancy parking myself somewhere near a big screen to keep tabs of the action.
Anyone got any recommendations?
Cheers
Simon
Get there early. Go down to Club corner, and sit on the banking, near to the vale incloser. Your see more of the track there, right from Stow through the Vale. Accelerate hard all the way around club, and all the way up to Abbey chicane.
There was a big screen on the inside of the corner as well.
If you like speed. On the bottom end of the Hanger straight, 200mph, ear piercing noise. It was amazing, they were breaking for Stow, after turning ino the corner. Can only see a small section of track, down low behing the fence, very close, but you can see the entire length of the straight, and around Stow. Big screen opposite as well.
The Mercedes pace cars, were very spectacular down there as well. 2 of them on track, throwing it sideways into Stow.
There on Fri to Mon, can't wait should be a good weekend! (better stay dry).
If you have never seen F1 live before you will love it, the speed and the noise is what surprised me the most when I first went a few years back, TV doesn't do it justice.

Yes it will blow your mind.
Take ear plugs just incase
Cheers for the responses. I went to an F1 practice session last year with a mate to take some pics with a mate and the sound was awesome
Girlfriend bought tickets for my birthday. Hadnt seen all the bumph that came with them til yesterday which has clued me up a bit more. Ouch at first support race 8.20am. Was planning on getting there for 8am but think we may have to leave earlier boo.
Dont sit under the flight path of the 'copters! Drove me mental in 96 when we went. From 7am until the green light of the F1 race nothing but choppers dropping the VIP's off, as soon as the race was over, they were at it again!! Nightmare!

If you have General Admission tickets then you will need to be there somewhat earlier than that. The first year we went we camped for the weekend but just had General admission tickets...... after chatting to a few fellow campers (who had been before) they advised we get to the gates before they open (around 5:30-6am) to get a spot. Didn't believe them at first but was a good job we done so, we were in a queue waiting at the gates around 5:30am!!!!! as soon as the gates open people literally run to get a spot, couldn’t believe it, crazy!
Within half an hour to an hour pretty much all the general admission areas were full. Everyone then sits there for some hours before anything starts, lol, madness but all good fun
Another reason why we saved our penny's and paid for seats in Luffield this year so we got a seat no matter what time we get there.
Really looking forward to it as I thought I wouldn't be going, we were supposed to be racing at Oschersleben in Germany but our driver isn't well enough to race.....
Went on Fri and Sat, was OK, atmposphere was rubbish imo.
The thought of going again on Sun for another 10 odd hours with no chance of a Brit win was not a happy one though so went to see my Dad instead.
I'd forgotten what a utterly horrid place Silverstone is. 100% behind them moving it to Donny now if they can redevelop it there. It might be a great track to drive around but it's an awful place for the average punter. It was an awful place for me and mates and we had tickets as guests of Formula One Management with pretty much AAA all days.
