Well, the dial is a free dial so without an indicator, it's hard to tell whether you selected the right amount of lock. Functionally you don't need the indicator but it would be much easier to tell what lock percentage you're in. In other words, at either end, you know it's clearly locked or fully open, but in between without the indicator you can't tell the lock percentage

If karting was Monday instead of Tuesday you would have me going as well, but as it stands, nope I can't make it - don't know if Darren is back yet.

Ideally I wouldn't want to exclude anybody from karting. I'm bad at organizing. I don't mind waiting a week really. Ask these guys what they think..

No you guys go ahead and enjoy the 10 buck heats - I'm sure TBC will do it again sometime. It's not like I'm itching to burn money.

Feiron is a nice guy. Unfortunately he couldn't take my hood because it lacks the mounting points for the intercooler splitter. He's got a really heavy aftermarket one and I'd be kinda worried about it even if it had the mounting points. Damn. He offered to pay shipping for the guy from Alberta that said he'd take it but I wouldn't feel right about that.

So the CF hood doesn't have the bolts for a splitter? Nice corner cutting move by the manufacturer... so now it's up for sale again

Yeah, maybe I should just bite the bullet and ship it to the guy in Alberta. Damn, he has a WRX wagon though.

Yeah, feiron had a really damn heavy stainless steel splitter. I'd have been worried about it even if the hood did have the mounting points. Putting on the stock splitter would probably be doable but not trivial.

Does it split the air down to the molecular level?

Aww, hell, nothing that a little epoxy wouldn't fix.

Are you guys talking about that little rubber skirt that goes around the intercooler opening, or is there something else?

He had a zero sports spliter or something. It weighed a ton. I'd have been worried about it being bolted to the bottom of the hood in the first place. For the stock one, I'm sure something could be done.

-S-, there's a plastic plate and that rubber on a stock one.

More than that - that's just the gasket. An air splitter technically would divide the air horizontally into two panes and send to the intercooler. I technically only need the gasket but since I got an essentially custom intercooler, nothing I can buy off the shelf

Um, ok, I think I get the picture. I don't spend much time peeking at a WRX hood so I've never noticed it besides the rubber gasket.

Just opened the radiator cap on a cold car and I can see the coolant being there, so it's only overfill
