If u buy a DCCD tranny.. is it totally necessary to get a cluster that has the DCCD display in order for it to work properly? or can u go without the cluster and just simply use the dial?
Well, the dial is a free dial so without an indicator, it's hard to tell whether you selected the right amount of lock. Functionally you don't need the indicator but it would be much easier to tell what lock percentage you're in. In other words, at either end, you know it's clearly locked or fully open, but in between without the indicator you can't tell the lock percentage
Feiron is a nice guy. Unfortunately he couldn't take my hood because it lacks the mounting points for the intercooler splitter. He's got a really heavy aftermarket one and I'd be kinda worried about it even if it had the mounting points. Damn. He offered to pay shipping for the guy from Alberta that said he'd take it but I wouldn't feel right about that.
Yeah, feiron had a really damn heavy stainless steel splitter. I'd have been worried about it even if the hood did have the mounting points. Putting on the stock splitter would probably be doable but not trivial.
Aww, hell, nothing that a little epoxy wouldn't fix.
Damn I'm drunk at home alone again...
He had a zero sports spliter or something. It weighed a ton. I'd have been worried about it being bolted to the bottom of the hood in the first place. For the stock one, I'm sure something could be done.
-S-, there's a plastic plate and that rubber on a stock one.
Are you guys talking about that little rubber skirt that goes around the intercooler opening, or is there something else?
More than that - that's just the gasket. An air splitter technically would divide the air horizontally into two panes and send to the intercooler. I technically only need the gasket but since I got an essentially custom intercooler, nothing I can buy off the shelf
