Nope, that wasn't me.
Hi HO! I found some Canada Flag stickers for you Joe, for a whopping LOONIE! Plus 5%GST, 7%PST on top of it of course.
If anyone else has anything else small and light to stuff into the box of schwag for Joe, you have today and tomorrow to drop it off. I'm planning on sending the box off to Joe on Friday afternoon. Hopefully it'll get to Japan early next week.

Hey Ashton - how often do you go down to Joe's PO box to grap stuff? I'm debating whether or not to have a boost gauge shipped up here or down there. The gauge is worth only $50ish or so.
I probably go every other month, but it really depends on what I need. I can give you the key and you can get it whenever you'd like? I ended up paying $12 dollars for the year to have my name on their list to ship items to that address because the lady gave me a hard time the last time I went down. Make sure your vendor puts Joe's name on the package and not your own
Hi HO! Oh, glad to hear you didn't have to pay to rent the whole mailbox, which isn't exactly cheap (but alas, is kind of a necessity for me, although I've been considering switching to a mail scanning service to avoid the hassle). Anyway, idubs should feel free to use the box since I am totally not using the allocation of 2 packages a week or something.
No further requests from here! Looks like I'll be moving to Tokyo pretty soon so I'm trying not to accumulate too much stuff. Thank you so much, guys! Looking forward to opening the package and smelling the air from CANADA in there! Sniff sniff.
Posted from an Internet cafe in Osaka at 2:34 in the morning. Been sitting in a massage chair doing my moonlighting transcription job for the past 3 hours, and my body is like BUTTAH...
anyone want parts from two old P166 PCs? If you want stuff - old RAM, hard drives (2gig and 20gig), CDROM, power supply, motherboard let me know. The catch is that you have to take the whole PC case if you want the part(s).
I need to know ASAP, because otherwise it's going to Karen's for recycling.
They don't usually ask for ID. The problem I ran into was that the company I ordered from put my name on the box and not Joe's so they didn't put it in his mailbox and we ended up spending 45min trying to find my package.
Joe, are you able to split the mailbox with another person? I have some US mail I'd like to have re-directed and splitting the cost could help
I guess that's one way not to have UPS/FedEx rip you off for doing the paper work - with me, I pay them so I don't have to line up at Peace Arch, and I don't ship to Pt Roberts because I want my gas trip to be as quick as it can be (they must have me on the books with nothing to declare every single time I go for gas)
Oh Happy (belated) New Year! Aww that means school is starting real soon for me
Bruno! So I started toilet training for BBJJ, after a week or so they were going to the bathroom there, so I cut a small hole in the middle. Now they don't go there... there's less litter, and the litter keeps falling through the hole. How did Simba react? I'm thinking maybe I should lock them in the bathroom for a day or something.... aiya help!
Joe: Sweet you're moving to Tokyo? So what about the apartment and Helen? Must be fun ~

There's only a $2 difference in shipping between shipping to the US vs. Canada. Even with taxes and duties and stuff, It still is less than the difference in gas I'd be spending to go grap it from the mailbox I think.

LaterZ!
Darren!!
It's one of those "I know I can charge you through the nose and you will still pay" kind of deal with brokerage. At least with the TireRack it's reasonable and upfront ($20 for a set of tires) - I have seen $50-$60 before just handling the paper work on top of taxes and duties, and one time they screwed up and I paid double the tax on my seats and they try to double bill me through the vendor. Pretty much like the scenario of US car dealers won't negotiate much with Canadians because they know you're already saving a bushel
Actually, on a lot of electronics, if you buy enough you get free shipping to 48 states but get charged quite a bit to go to Canada, and then there are some vendors with prior bad experiences that just won't ship to Canada
There are several items that I bite the bullet for and buy in Canada. If, however, I want the selection available in the US market or can stack up my orders, it's more that worth the trip down to the mailbox. You can always walk across, too!
I wonder how the Canadian Christmas retail sales were this year and how much they were impacted by cross border shopping?

So where do they go then? Or do I want to know...
We got a new kitten (named Malka) a while ago so I've been training him. The first hole seems to be by far the most difficult step. I cut it too early again and even though he'd been happily using the "toilet" without a hole before, once the hole was there he decided to use the bathroom rug instead. So I covered the hole back up with some tape from below, and got rid of the rug. Then I waited at least a week before I opened the hole back up. Since then I've been making the hole bigger after about a week.
I think the key is that they be comfortable using it without the hole for over a week, and don't have any other convenient alternatives. Then they should react OK to the hole but yeah, they will be a bit curious about it at first. Also, be sure to keep the initial hole small.
The first and second hole are the most difficult part for you as well. At that point there's not much litter so there tends to be an odour issue so it's best to deal with their business as quickly as possible. Once you reach the 3rd hole most of the waste ends up in the the toilet where it's easily dealt with.
No, I paid for a package-only "address". Basically, I'm on their list so they will accept packages on my behalf and charge me the $2 fee for every item shipped

Congrats on the new kitten! How are they getting along?
They poo'd on our lamb skin rug and on our leather couch. My mom is furious, I left them in the bathroom last night, but she decided to let them out, so... today he pee'd on our brand new carpet in front of the couch. I wanted to patch up the hole, hm maybe it's too early for them. How long after the training did you start the first hole?
We saw BB's mess... I wonder where JJ did his business. OH NO! It must be hiding somewhere... this is bad...
Haha funny you mention that, I was just looking at steamers the other day. I put them in the bathroom this morning again after BB took a spill near the same couch right on the carpet. I grapped paper towel and was pretty much catching is pee... then when they were in the bathroom, JJ decided to use his own bed as the bathroom and that had to be thrown out.
I quickly went out to get some stain/odor remover and a new bed. I patched up the training kit as well, so I really hope they'll go there again...

While you guys talk 'bout toilet training your cats, Reen and I will probably start toilet training Mackenzie pretty soon.
She had a spill today before her bath. Took her diaper off in the bathroom, and while she was standing there, she let some pee go. I guess talking to her about using her potty to pee in wasn't a good idea when she was standing there nekked with the shower filling her tub up with water.

They seem to be getting along pretty well. They "fight" a bit, but I think it's playful. Also, Simba doesn't sit infront of the door crying anymore so he seems happier.
Like I said, I tried waiting a bit less than a week (and that was after having Malka use a bowl in the toilet for a week or two while I waited for the kit to be back in stock) but that doesn't seem to be enough. I'd say cover the hole and wait at least a week.
