Getting it off of the bricks, not hard at all. Floor jack is all you need as Joe's car's blocks at the jack point locations.
We'll need to attach his battery back as I believe it is currently disconnected - is the 10mm wrench still safe and sound in your trunk Joe? If not, I'm sure I"ve got one myself at home.
Things we'll need to check - make sure the air in his tires haven't gone stale. Best to let all the air out first, and then pump it up with my bicycle floor pump. It is the fastar to simply slash the tires to let all of the air out.
Needless to say everything might have gone stale - air, oil, and gas. Hopefully there is a few days when it's sunny. Need to get him to sign an authorization letter though
man, the brick sure turned into a ghetto store. New policy is no returns, no exchanges. I got a new tv stand for cheap though. service is subpar on a weekday even.
Man, I just noticed the documents from when I moved my mortgage are full of mistakes in out address. In some spots there is an M instead of an N in the postal code (I actually noticed at the bank that they had our postal code wrong but there wasn't time to fix it and all they really cared about was the legal description.)
In other places our unit number ends in 7 instead of 8. In fact, our residence address on the land title is incorrect so I noticed when my neighbour started getting mail addressed to us from the City of Vancouver.
They charged over $370 to add my wife to the title and they screw it up. Funny thing is I know we did catch some mistakes on the transfer form, but either they made more when they re-did it or we didn't catch them all.

Sweet! That means the mortgage is invalid and you can stop making payments. You need to start thinking like an American.

Oh and KGB and Pho, thanks for thinking about the lil black scooby in hibernation. I have a floor jack either in the trunk or in the closet in the apartment, just shove that sucker under the crossmember or diff and take the stands out. The air in the tires should be good enough to get you to the gas station, and is actually probably just fine where it is. It would be nice if you could take the car and some Mobil-1 in for a fresh change, but it's not absolutely necessary, as I was careful to put a fresh batch of synthetic in just before I put it away. The main thing is that the tank of gas should be burned through and filled up again if possible. Of course, I'll reimburse all of that.
As for release form, do you need me to draft one up or do you have one in mind? No problem either way -- I was the one who brought up this idea and I'm not going to complain.
Well, the thing is the legal description is right, so there's no real doubt about owning the right place etc, it's just the address of the owners is wrong. I emailed the lawyer this evening and got a one line reply of "it will be fixed" at 9:15.
All in all, I don't think the mess is really that bad but it's a bit disappointing. I already checked and the land title department doesn't charge for updating addresses of owners, I just don't know how I would do it directly.
With the timezone differences I guess Joe won't be seeing this until tonight - I'm trying to combine everything in one trip, as in when it's time to pick up my car. I will e-mail you the template of the authorization letter I got from an autoplan agent. Hopefully it's a dry day and I figure I will just drive it straight to Proline and drop it off.
Largely in part due to the fact that my bus home was not on Japanese time. I waited almost 30 mins for a bus that supposedly runs about every 10 minutes only to squeeze aboard into a situation which I imagine is almost as crowded as a Japanese subway, though I ony had people continously brushing up against me on two sides.
