the reason subaru are who they are, he made me smile so many times with a style and ability thats never been rivelled, also one of the reasons i have my car.
honestly - my hero, god bless and may they rest in peace - geoffo.
great words from all makes me proud to be a member of scoobynet.condolances to all families concerned.what a star this man was like many on here he was my idol and the reason i followed rally indeed subaru.i always wanted to be a football star as a kid but as an adult always thought bloody hell wish i could drive like that guy.always a charger full of belief and courage.god bless you fella and strength to your family.billy
My thoughts and condolances go to the families who lost their loved ones in such a tragic way, Colin will always remain in our thoughts because champions never leave you, their memory and the impression they made on you as a person lasts forever.
You made a huge imnpression on my life because if it had not been for you i would have never gone to watch so much rallying and i doubt i would have ever owned a subaru, thanks mate as you helped so many people to improve their lives and you left us with such great memories of a true champion.
Words are immaterial at a time like this, a great man and his son should not exit the world in such a way!!
I buried my old boss, 44, Friday another man who inspired me (Terminal Cancer and thought stuff it and bought himself an s2000 to enjoy his last days)!!
I knew neither as well as I should and find myself lacking in character when it comes to paying tribute to either!!
A small tribute to a great man who I never had the pleasure to meet. But that doesn't stop me from being sad at the loss, as that means I will never get to meat the great man.
My sugestion would be a central meet donate some money to create a tribute.
We will - as a community - do something very special. Please leave your suggestions.
Okay, so there have been a few suggestions about a huge festival of Subaru's in Colins memory. The logistics of organising this are obviously enormous.
But there is already a huge annual meeting of Subaru's...................... Scooby Shoot Out. Could the two be combined? Or SSO be run in Colin and Richards memory? Then at least some of the ground work for organising it would be done.
Most racetracks have corners named after drivers aswell.
Handling course could be the McRae bends.
Drag strip could be the Burns straight.
