I bought a Nintendo DS Lite on E-Bay on 5th July for my wife, paid £99 via PayPal on a Buy-It-Now.
The seller sent me a reference number on the 10th July saying it had been dispatched 1st Class Recorded.
After it hadn't arrived by the 16th I sent him a message via E-Bay, later that night he's refunded my payment back to my PayPal account and filed a non-paying bidder dispute on E-Bay - WTF????
I've responded to the dispute and asked why he's refunded my payment and why he's raised the dispute, his reponse was "Check PayPal, thanks"
I've sent him a couple of messages asking him to ring me and have heard nothign back.
What would you do??
My wifes E-Bay id has 100% positive feedback for 51 transactions and we don't want this dispute to ruin that.
He may have an automated system that shows the item as being unpaid, when a refund is given.
Respond to the unpaid item dispute (should be a link in the email you recieved about it). State the facts, and then its his turn to reply, and if it was a mistake caused by an automated reply, then he can end the dispute.
Once the seller files an Unpaid Item Dispute, eBay sends the buyer an email notification and displays a pop-up message if the buyer signs into eBay within 14 days of filing. The email and pop-up message will provide the following details:
Friendly reminder to pay. The email and pop-up message will remind the buyer that payment has not been received, along with simple instructions on how to respond or how to pay for the item. If the buyer does not respond to the email or pop-up message within seven days, the seller may file for a Final Value Fee credit. The seller also becomes eligible for a free re-list credit.
Mutual agreement indication. If the seller indicates that a mutual agreement has been reached with the buyer not to complete the transaction, eBay will ask the buyer for confirmation through an email and pop-up message.
If the buyer confirms the seller's statement about mutual agreement not to complete the transaction, the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike and the seller will receive a Final Value Fee credit.
If the buyer disagrees with the seller's statement on mutual agreement, the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike and the seller will not receive a Final Value Fee credit. The dispute will be closed immediately after the buyer responds and the seller will not be eligible to re-file an Unpaid Item dispute for that transaction.
If the buyer does not respond to the email or pop-up message within seven days then the seller will be able to close the dispute. The seller will receive a Final Value Fee credit and the buyer will not receive a strike.
I will be choosing the option in bold so he doesn't receive a final value fee credit.
I'm not going to let him mess me around like that and then agree to a mutual withdrawal.
