There is a lovely RUF watch that i like. The normal Porsche design flat 6 watches are nice too. I was in the Porsche Design boutique on Bond St yesterday and there was all sort fo shiny stuff that was very cool
What is wrong with a casio or a timex? how come everyone wants these farking ugly, hulking great expensive things these days? Who in their right mind is gona pay 18 grand for a watch???
I tried on/had in my hands about £5Million of watches yesterday. If i had the money i'd have bought them....
Nothing wrong with either Casio or Timex, or Seiko. I have Two casios that i love and a Seiko that has traveled round the world with me and never missed a beat, fantastic watches.
Disclaimer-I possibly have no sense of style taste or class, but those look like they were designed by primary school kids to me fisher price stylee if you like.
cheers Richie
I may have jumped in a bit premature I respect any Valjoux 7750 AR2 movement, its just that they have cheapened it by adding the Porsche logo/name/brand to the watch.
I wouldn't pay that much for it though. Any "design"/"fashion" watch like this with a 7750 is worth about £1k imo. Ball and Sinn have their pricing right in this respect (although they aren't in any way fashion watches)

Aren't all watches that cost more than a couple of quid a design/fashion item?
When a Patek Phillipe quartz watch costs almost as much as the automatic you cannot claim it is the cost of the movement!
i'm beginning to think snetters entire knowledge of watches has been garnered from CAR magazine or the inside back cover of a Sunday Supplement, put me down for one
together with a commemorative Princess Diana plate from the Royal Mint

I like the Pewter faced flat six quite a lot!
Yeah i see what you mean. I'm not too clued up on Pateks quartz movement but i'd assume it's going to be one of the finest quartz analog/mechanical movements ever made. When Rolex made their quartz watches until a few years ago their quartz movement was an outstanding piece of kit. It was basically their 3035 mechanical movement with a quartz power source instead of a spring/balance. I'd imagine Pateks are the same sort of thing and probably cost as much to develop/make as the mechanical equivalent in the same watch.
I can not work out weather or not i like them at first i liked the gold one, then i preferred the black, then i thought they looked a bit tacky
Somebody gave me some Porsche aftershave last christmas, it has quite a nice smell to be honest reminds me that i was watching "come dine with me" and some twat on the show was showing off his Porsche Design kitchen knife

So, did you go to Watch School? A kind of Horologists Harry Potter?
Next you will be saying that most Snetters entire knowledge of cars comes from evo magazine or watching Top Gear!
Know nothing about watches but I do know that I have had a G Shock for 11 years that has never missed a beat (two battery replacements) and keeps the correct date until 2032 and another "smarter" one (black ion Cockpit) that's two years old, smart enough and has been battered but still brilliant.
