Default Aaaaaaaarggggh, Royal Mail!

My post usually arrives around lunchtime. Today I took the wife to work and dropped the car off for an oil change. By the time I got home, 09:40, the post had been, and left me a card saying my new washer pump had not been delivered as it needs a signature.

Today I have the car all day, so could have fitted it. Now I can't even GET it until tomorrow

Nah, it'll be a little package, probably in a jiffy bag, it's only a windscreen washer pump.

OK, not being argumentative, but they didn't have an appointment with you so I don't think you can complain too much. Most people's view of the post is earlier the better. And if it needs a signature there's not much they can do. If they'd left it without a signature, that would have been wrong too.

Secondly, you could try going to the sorting office this afternoon as it is probably back there by now. They just put next day on there as that is the very latest it will be there. If it was with the postman he would have finished around 1pm so it will be in the sorting office from then on.

Yeah, I know they don't have an appointment, my gripe is that I sort-of arranged the day thinking that since the post has been delivered between 12.30 and 2.30 every day for the last month, it MIGHT be the same today. So today, they change it and it's here between 8.00 and 9.30.:rolleyes;

And yes, I went to the PO: it was shut; 3.15 before I could get the car back and get up there Just not my day

I could have told you that the sorting office collection closes at 3pm, like you could have looked on the back and seen it's 08.00-15.00 Mon-Fri

i know this isnt a thread about having a go at royal mail, but the service they provide round here is pure crap. our post doesnt usually get here until 3-4 pm. and ive had so many items lost its ridiculous. there was a program about the mail on telly last nite on dispatches. opened my eyes to some shocking things. .

Upstairs has definitely seen an improvement. Downstairs, not much difference if any really. I have the 'stat set to 25 degrees and am currently wearing 2 layers, not 3. Can't afford to have the heating on all day so just wear my wooly hat when required.

25 degrees? You big girl's blouse! That's positively tropical! Are you growing weed in the roof or something?

No. My heatings just crap. The house has solid walls, and naff radiators. 25 degrees is probably closer to 15 max. I need a new heating system in all fairness, hense why I looked to sort my loft out as a minimum

Maybe take up an apprenticeship to train as a plumber too? Borrow the stuff from college and tell them it's for homework

Not always true. I recently had a card left to pick up a parcel, attempted at around 10/11am. I went the next day, still not there. Was told to call back the next day, and thankfully it was (even though it would've easily fit through the letterbox, and didn't require a signature). The same woman was on the desk and asked if I'd been back home since the day before as there was another package there for me. I had been, so assumed I'd just missed him when going to pick up the other parcel. Nope, no card even left, so if I hadn't gone back, I'd have 'lost' a parcel.

My card stated I had to wait 24 hours.

Think mine were changed to 48hours?

Had a missed parcel once, went to collect and they gave me the wrong one, what they gave me was a parcel for my father who lived in a different estate

Of course when he went to collect his parcel they had lost it.

About 3 weeks later, my parcel was left outside my front door for when i came home from work
Eeeejits.
