Bonuses are a reward for exceeding targets and expectations set by the company you work for. They aren't meant to be mandatory or expected that you will get them.
If they have improved the company through the working practises they've done or put in place then I think they should have a bonus of some sort BUT in no way should be anyway near their annual salary in one lump sum. The bonuses I get are very small in comparison to what I earn and I have to work bloody hard for them. That's how it should be for all no matter where you are on the company ladder.
Why else did the boy David announce his so-called benefit capping idea on the same day as the head of RBS was due to get his bonus announced?
The Tories are happy for the bankers to get bonuses, after all, it will be the bankers who bankroll them for ther next election, and anyone who loses his job, or resigns, will get a nice directorship.
And someone tell me that isn't unhealthy for the country?
All they are interested in is filling each others' wallets.

The whole nation seems to have missed the fact that such a huge sum given to charity gives him a massive tax break. This is why he didn't refuse the bonus and did the charity route..
