Thumbs up Hijack

Different subject......

Does anyone fancy going to a shooting range ? ?
I've been emailing a local range and they say £20 per person, using .22 rimfire carbines, either bolt action or semi auto. Shooting over 25 metres. Probably with 20 shots.

For £20 you get gun hire, ammo (20 shots), targets (which you will keep), ear muffs and tea/coffee. Its in stockport.

Maximum of 20 people. 4 people on the range at once. It will be either a Monday or Tuesday evening.

If there is enough interest I will start a seperate thread about it...

I was a bad shot in my airforce days, but we didn't need it, we had all the Dumb fecks from the army to defend us followed by officers in planes . but it may be interesting to see if im a better shot than the pongo's such as CW42 and Andy S!!

Not sure about the guns. Doesn't really say in my email from them. I'm not bothered either way because it will be a laugh. I'll email them and find out more,

Heres the website. http://www.marplerifleandpistolclub.org.uk/

Military use 5.56 rifles on 25 m ranges - and i still strugle to get a good grouping on them

Used to own one of these.

http://www.straightshooters.com/theoben/thrapid12.html

Owned the .20 variety and had to have a class 1 firearms license. The police deem this rifle more dangerous than a shot gun.

Will hit a target 80m out with this and get good grouping.

I've just updated the websites events page to better reflect what's going on this year with the club

Between now and the end of the year we have:

IOM TRIP
PEAK TOUR 30TH APRIL
RICHARD BURNS RELAY 6TH MAY
BTCC 14TH MAY
SCOOBYNET LIVE 21ST MAY
NBO 18TH JUNE

and until the WRC in December, we've nothing else planned

So, here are a few more suggestions from myself and others that have been bandied around this year

SHOOTING

NURBURGRING TRIP

TRACKDAY

LOTS OF DRIVES OUT

BIG WELSH TRIP INCLUDING KARTING

SEPERATE KARTING EVENT

VIDEO GAMES NIGHT AT MINE

That should keep us busy for the rest of the year, please feel free to step forward and organise an event

No, really!

Chris.

Well some bloke challenged me to a dual tonight at the lights me in my Scoob and him on his bike - he roared off and left me for dead - the next thing he's attempting to take this roundabout like Valentino Rossi in the wet and ends up on his arse sliding down the road inh a shower of sparks.

he was fine but the bike was a bit sore to say the least - the thing is he told me it was his girlfriends

doghouse or what

What a Knob! I was coming down the Cat and Fiddle this afternoon at my usual pace, in the snow (Yes there was about 6 inches on the ground, enough for the plough to come out) and all the bikers where doing about 10mph! Like little mobile road block they where However most of them where taking shelter in the Cat and fiddle.

I admit i feel a little guilty as i took the bait somewhat but i did drive well within my own limits (and the law) i knew he was heading for a spill the speed he went into the corner - i mean ffs he has a contact patch the size of my palm, luckily he was not hurt but you could tell he was so embarrassed
