Default Nissan Elgrand or alternative MPV

Looking to change the ageing 180k miles Toyota Previa for something a bit newer but roughly the same size

Anyone any experience of the Nissan Elgrand, seen quite a few of these for sale, and they dont look too bad, and massive inside too

Other one been looking at is the Chrysler Grand Voyager, but I heard that they can be unreliable, is that all of them, or particular ones to avoid ?

Galaxy is out as the boot space isnt enough, and it doesnt have sliding doors, Vauxhall is too small too

Not really keen on the idea of another Previa

Buy a Delica and have some fun.

Mine here.

Its a SuperExceed 2.8 TD auto column shift with crytalite roof, I love it.

Its basically a Shogun with a different lid on it, same bullet proof 4M40 motor.

It will go anywhere, and you can move around in it easily as it has no gearbox tunnel.

So my Mrs can see to the young lad just like waking down the aisle of a plane.

Cheap as chips but sh1t on fuel.

7 or 8 seat configuration available, I use it as a 4 seater (captains chairs) with a huge boot for the quad.

If you are thinking of buying from Car Planet Warr/or Jap imports in St Helens let me know.

Cheers mate

I still have a Shogun sat on the drive I need to get rid of LOL

I have seen a couple of motors at Car Planet that take my fancy, just not had chance to go down and see them in the flesh so to speak

Do you know the guys at Car Planet ?, which is the one in St Helens ? is that the one at the back of Morrisons near Baxters Lane ?

Place I went to yesterday (which had about 6 Elgrands, and the equivalent Toyotas and a few Delicas) was at the bottom of Vista Road in Newton Le Willows

I bought mine off Max at CarPlanet, he is a good friend of a friend.

I have also dealt with the guy who owns Enterprise in NL/willows, he live around the corner from me.

They should both have large MPV's in at the moment, much cheapness, cash is King.

Buy a Delica and the truck you have on the path will do for spares..

What about a Toyota Hiace Regius ?. Don't know if you have had a look at these or know about these. Some of the owners are very satisfied with them. The engines in these came from the diesel Hilux Surf and the Landcruiser ( 3.0td ) also there is the 2.7ltr petrol engine (where did this one come from ?).I guess all the Hiace Regius's are imports from Japan. Servicing etc shouldn't be a problem because the diesel engine is popular.

I've got one of these Chevrolet Astro on eBay, also, Other Cars, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Apr-09 12:35:38 BST)

Great to drive, I've been everywhere in it and only had 1 problem with it and that was due to previous bad workmanship. Mine's LPG converted too and is great on fuel too!, equivalent to 50mpg with mixed town and motorway driving

I take it it is LHD?, the one in the ad is described as RHD but the pics tell a different story.

Yep, only 1 RHD that has been converted that I know of, driving a LHD car is easy though, becomes second nature in a couple of hours if you haven't driven one before

Is it a Bongo?

Or El-Grand...or somit else.

It looks like a Bongo from the side but the front looks different.

Those workshops look familiar........Enterprise.

Looks pretty cool for an MPV, certainly better looking than an Espace or Voyager.

It is an Elgrand, and yes it is Enterprise

I put 500 quid deposit on, then went to the shop and won 450 quid on the lottery hot picks :result:

Very well spec'd and very clean, Bongo's are similar but much more basic

This one has Momo Nissan steering wheel (same as my scoob) twin sreens (front and rear) twin sunroof, winter pack (2 batteries, radiator curtain, heated mirrors and windscreen) big subwoofer LOL, chrome alloys, lexus style led rear lights (bit bling I know) 2wd/4wd Snow & power control, blitz turbo timer, electric power side door, only two tiny spots of rust too, and is very nippy for a 3.2 turbo diesel

Default elgrand looks good

I am looking for something similar myself. How as it been to live with over the last few months? Any idea on mpg? are the parts available? I cannot decide between the 2wd and 4wd. Was the garage any good? Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers
Simon
