Default Renault Laguna 1.9 DCI (2006) model fault code

Guys,

Does anyone know what fault code P1431 is ?

Just rang a Renault garage and they said they cannot tell by the code I gave them as they have there own fault code process?

I got the code from my OBDI reader.

Cheers
Steve

Google says;

'P1431 Misfire Monitor Disabled, unable to learn trigger wheel profile * '

Could possibly be the cam sensor, assuming it still runs.

BTW, your dealer is talking crap, OBD codes are an industry standard. 'P' indicates 'Powertrain' and then the number is the specific fault. What your dealer means is 'sorry, I can't be arsed to go and look that code up for you, bring the car in, we'll take 30 secs to plug it in, charge you £85 and then tell you it's probably the summat we don't have in stock'. Or words to that effect
