And their parcel shelves are made of bog roll.
And their hinges are made of string.
And their door cards are actually door tracing paper.

But they are mostly good.

Anyone noticed how many Mondeos have wobbly rear valances?!

Yeah the MkI Mondeos always had a flapping rear valance

Vauxhall seem to be on top in the build/fit/quality league but behind in the handling. Having said that the new Astra SRI TDCI i bought my Mum is a very good handling car though and the new Vectra thingy is supposed to be as good as the Mondeo...

I spent a lot of time deciding between a Focus 2.0TDCi and the Astra 1.9CDTi 150 - The Astra won me over in the end though - better engine (Vx seem slightly better at engines), better made, better looking and usefully quicker. The Focus handled slightly better but the difference was marginal.
Four years later and I still bloody have it!

Enquired about a very low miler 335i Touring yesterday though...

Think the Astra VXR and Focus ST are fairly evenly matched - but Vx need to do a lot to match/beat the RS.

wish i could do a write up like saxo boys...but i cant
all i will say is the car is awsome, handles fantastic, pulls like a train, so mutch power it blows my mind and all below 5000rpm will rev to 7000 once run in
seats are perfect seem to fit great, steering wheel nice and chunky positive feel no
no hint of wheel spin and its been raining, on roundabouts it feels like a 4 wheel drive
so safe and solid

all in all i cant beleve how good the car is , i already feel its the best car i've ever had
after a whole 4 hours

Cool - sounds amazing! Any pics of it yet? Haven't seen one in the metal.

Darc - looks evil. Bet the Focus handles better though. If you uprated that you might end up with a VXR-R-R-R-R?!

Cool

Saw one on sale in a Ford showroom in Zurich this week, green and all, looked interesting.

Good to see that some people are happy with the car they bought!

........will be a shame to see them cry when they get raped by a Scooby at the first lights........

I think Audi have got it right - do nice interiors, sell thousands of cars.
If you're talking about classics maybe, but I'd say the standard WRX, and especially the STI interiors are way ahead of the Ford alternative.
It's all about the quality of the plastics. Putting stacks of brushed metal look plastics into the car doesn't work if they look cheap - I have to say I think with the later new age models Subaru got that right.

Had a look at a mate's Focus ST when we were in London and I was really surprised how "low spec" it looked in comparison. I just would've expected Ford to have made more of an effort for a higher end model.
I really do like the look of the RS outside though.

Nice!

Regarding the clio... it's missing one main thing, a turbo! I bet the Focus feels a lot quicker, you can see in the vid that it pulls away a bit on the straights and stick 350bhp up it and it'll be running away.

The interior is pretty good on the rs there is a few things the seat belt clips are a bit cheap
im not keen on the cup holders, i think they should be hidden not on show, i like the carbon effect trim, some dont and ive herd people say about the arm rest but i think its ok also has aircon in the glove box to keep your beers cool

Let's face it though - if you're prepared to go mental then quite a few cars could keep up with it! It just depends how committed / pyschotic the driver of the other car is

Pics look great

Green is defo the best colour IMHO, but not something I think I could live with unless it was a weekend car (the colour that is).

In the real world I imagine the RS driver would believe the RS hype, have an ego attack and go mental just to shake a 'pesky' clio i.e. overtake into oncoming traffic or undertake etc. I see it all the time around here.

That RS doesn't really get far away on the short straights. Looks like the 'feel' is more monstrous than the reality, as some reporters have alluded to. Still, what does the media know? Seeing as the RS was 'better' than a GTR, and a clio is as fast as the RS, does that mean GTR owners will be swapping for clios?

Hats off to Renault though, they really are producing some very good cars currently. I expect the upcoming RS megane will at least equal the FRS in terms of performance.
