Yup the 2.2's were not that good and the 2ltr di's could suffer fuel pump issues, though in 75k's worth of driving in my works astra G i had no mechanical problems
The latest vauxhalls are a BIG step up though, and funnily on the way home today I spotted 3 VAG cars broken down on the hard shoulder (200 miles) (less than 5 years old) yet no vauxhalls must be german reliability (acutally I dont think I have ever seen a new shape, less than 8 years old vauxhall) broken down, shed load of audi/vw's (amazingly no seat or skoda )
