Question Mazda 3 MPS

Anybody owned one?
Like the look of the new shape.

Look pretty tunable too.

Seems like a lot of car for the money. Looks ok to me, was tempted to try one but when I went to the local Mazda garage they showed no interest in me so I walked.
For me, it was the rarity of them which was tempting (would rather have an MPS than an ST for example).

Not too keen on the grinning Pokemon look though still a competent motor.

I have a mate with one, really fast car with all the toys you could ever want. Only downside I would say is the price. If it were me I would go for the MK1 and save a fortune. Same car, same engine with a more subtle better look IMO.

...until you come to pay the road tax. The m1 is in the highest tax bracket so will not only cost a lot more each year to keep on the road but will plummet in value in a few years as no one will buy a car of that age/price for what will be £500+ a year to tax.

It does look really nice but as you say that grin! Why are so many car designers personifying cars with ugly gaping mouths?

I like the look of these over the usual st/type r/vxr brigade. Bet the interwarmer doesn't do them any favours though.

You could say that about any car so for simplicity people should refer to standard spec otherwise it becomes a guessing game

I wasn't talking about either in standard form. Hence reason I said Decat and remap on the mps and then MY wrx. Which is far from standard.

People can refer to whatever level of tuning they like.

They're only Front Wheel Drive though! That one with 320bhp would be a handful in the wet! (or dry!)

The 6 MPS is 4wd however!

Of course they can but without offering details of the tune how are the rest of us supposed to know what that is?
Just saying MY wrx doesnt tell anyone anything unless they specifically know what your car has had done to it and even then the majority wont.

By using the search function? Or by clicking on my username, profile and then find threads/posts by..

learning how to use the forum would be a good start. It would stop you "assuming" which you clearly did above.

Ok I'll use the search function, look for what you have done to your car, find out what BHP it produces just so I can put your post into context that you could have included details in to start with and assumed people knew what you were talking about? Righty ho.

I love being part of petty arguments, they are fun.
