Hi guys missus is thinking of buying this clio, i know not eveyone taste but she loves the colour plus cheap to run, i know it needs some body tlc but what whats your views on the clios as i heard they many proplems , and what to look out for when going to view it.
I like the colour but something tells me when you look at it won't be all it's cracked up to be.
Just look at those bumpers.. They need replacing. Why not find an example that's been owned by an old lady for the last 10yrs and paint it the same colour?

Reason: lol should read look at it not look a tit!!!
Anyway, Robs sexuality aside, it's a piece of ****, the Clio is indeed a nice car, I had a 1.2 when I was 18, brand new out the show room and loved it. I now drive the misses 2L and although it's not a car I would have as my daily drive, it's really good fun, puts a lot of cars to shame and anyone it doesn't, **** it, its a Clio.
The title of the thread is incomplete, should read 2003 RENAULT CLIO in EXTREMELY VILE COLOUR 1.2
The thing you need to really think about is that from time to time she will need to drive you from A to B - would you really want to be seen in that or getting out of it at the pub...
Also, if the bodykit needs attention how easy is it to get a match on the paint???
I would get an exact list of the mods and get a quote for insurance as well.
10 yr old Renault = lots of electrical problems and chances are the odd snapped front spring!

run a mile from it.no chance of paint touch ups as probably one off colour so full respray needed, fibregkass bits will crack and look awfull plus its a CLIO.....lol
how about something a bit cool like a lupo or polo on coilies with banded steels(never guess i am into the veedub scene)
the words barge pole & dont touch it comes to mind !
they often get faults with immobilser & starting issues, crank sensor, grounding wires are always perished causing starting issues, rattling top end when warm to name a few. Oh & leaking sunroofs as the double sided tape fails & leaks in stinks the car out.
this is from experience of my wife owning one for the past 7 years & the above have been some of the issues i have had to sort. On a hole though if you do find an original un molested, good mileaged one they aint to bad to run, just can not wait to see the day it goes
but the ebay one, just dont touch unless you will be busy boy!
The missus yeah yeah. A mate of of a mate is interested.....
Seriously thought it didn't look to bad from a distance but the close up pictures show so much bodywork damage, cracks, scuffs, tears it doesnt look well treated. The seats have been done well (not sure on the colour but each to their own) but thats about it.
My ex had a 1.2 Mtv edition and it was the most gutless car I have ever driven. Brakes were good but as often happens with Renault's it was plagued by a whole host of electrical problems:
-PAS stopped working
-Airbag warning light came on for no reason
-Drivers window broke in the open position
-Standard stereo drained the battery when parked
dont bother ive a172 sport and ive been plagued with electrical problems central locking dosnt work now abs lights on changed all the rings and still on mine is a 2003 50k example with fsh cant wait to get rid
