Default Photo Competition Round 54 - Seeing things differently...... Discussion Thread

Photo Competition Round 54 – Seeing things differently ......Discussion Thread

This month how about looking things from unusual and/or interesting angles or vantage points? It could be a worm's eye view of the World or it could be
just a refreshing and new way to look at something that we see every day. I thought that this would let people cover everything from portrait to landscape and show what they can do with creative camera work, use of aperture and lots more

Discussion only in this thread please.

Rules

1. Image must have been taken within the competition period, which is from Friday 10th April to Sunday 26th April 2009
2. No image will be greater than 800 pixels along its longest side.
3. Image overall will not exceed 300kb (defined as 307,200 bytes).

If a submitted image contravenes rules 1 ,2 or 3 could people please mention this in the discussion thread so that the poster can fix it, some advice to the poster about how they might rectify the problem might be handy. No image which breaks any of these rules will be included in the voting thread so let's try to avoid a submission being left out due to not meeting the rules.

4. Each entrant can change their posted image at any time (using edit function) up to the closing date for submissions which is midnight UK local time on Sunday 26th April 2009.
5. Maximum of three images per entrant.
6. Digital manipulation is allowed in order to correct technical issues. Sharpening, levels, contrast and colour adjustments are allowed as is the cloning out of minor defects.
7. If you feel the need to use other digital tools or effects then these must be fully documented so that people can learn how to use such tools/effects.
8. Image must be hosted so that it appears correctly in the competition thread using something like photobucket or a direct link to the photo if you cannot do this.
9. Image must be titled but not on the image itself, i.e. some bold text naming the image should be posted above it. In addition, to benefit others, please post some details below the pic e.g. EXIF data or just aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, equipment used etc. (this is a learning exercise after all).
10. There will be no posts in the Entries thread other than those for the posting of competition images.
11. There are no judges, only votes from Scoobynet members, their collective decision is final.
12. Voting should be from Monday 27th April until 8pm Thursday 30th April. Anyone with a Scoobynet log-in will be eligible to vote, not just those submitting pictures.
13. Images will meet the requirements of the ScoobyNet T&Cs
14. Winner gets to choose the theme for the next round.

Great idea, open to lots of interpretation

I'm not sure if I'll get chance to enter though as hardly have time to think these days

Was out with the camera on Monday, so have stuck one up which hopefully meets the criteria

Its how worms would see things anyway (if worms see, which i doubt..lol)

I've posted mine, even though it didn't really turn out how I wanted, so its not really "seeing things differently".

Scott.

I've hardly had chance to pick up the camera, even for the nice sunrises and sunsets on the way to/from long days at w***

Curses, too busy to take any interesting snaps and missed my own deadline

I hope the winner picks a better subject that gets more entries

OK.....but

There were 6 entries and they deserve their efforts with a vote.

So where is it ?

I know as in the past there were 5 points available over the top 5 entred.

With the 6 entries these should still have a vote to keep the thread going IMO.
