Well it's been a great winter, thought we could share a few of our snow/cold/winter related photos maybe?
To be fair the last couple were early 09 and one is from Val Thorens a couple of weeks back but oh well!

Thanks all...
@ trails - it was the first real winter they'd seen and she seemed real curious about the ice!
Anyone else have any they took?

Very nice, all of them!
Did you use a grad filter for that shot ChalieWhiskey? I bought a a cokin P-type set to see what they are about and I'm hooked on them now!

Yep, I use the Cokin P system and probably a used 4D grad & a Circular polariser, but over-cooked it a bit as you can see from the dark blue sky.
This is very hard to judge as you take the shot as it's almost invisible to the naked eye, it can be recovered a bit in Photoshop, with a smart use of the radius tool and levels, as taught to me by http://www.briandclark.com/index.php...folio&page=340. This hasn't been done on this early edit as it was posted whilst I was still up there, but you have to be there to catch it!
This Feb. I got stuck in the Kings House Hotel, snowed in for 4 days, and met up with Brian, many years after he, and subsequently a few others, became my inspiration to search out such amazing winter shots of this photographer's paradise. There are just so many idyllic shots of Scotland to be found within a few miles of this very spot!
Ever since I first ventured there, by train in the 1970's, I decided that, when I'm finally done with this earth, I want my ashes to be scattered on Rannoch Moor, as it's such a special place, my heaven!
We did, once upon a time, discus the idea of a Scoobynet 'togs holiday up there but not sure how many of those interested are still here?

Certainly looks like a good area, sure I've seen its name against some stunning shots in serveral mags over the winter period..
That'd be an awesome combination of a trip!

Thanks! The rest of them are all from around the Peak District area in Derbyshire.
