Is this GB still running?

cw42 11 April 2006 11:06 PM

Not so much a group buy now, more a search completed :D

Taken from further back in the thread:

Got them! I called into the supplier starship impreza put me onto today, and picked up the 2nd to last one of the units he's got on ebay. They're a lot bigger than I thought, but looking behind the grill on my03sti, there's a place that they should mount quite easily

So, who still wants one? If you do, please contact David at marketing@specialist-leisure.co.uk and also post your name on here. He's got one left which is on ebay for a buy it now price of £59 + £6 p&p, or you can order off him once you've mailed him, for £64 all in

Big thanks to everyone for scouring the net for these horns, and to starship impreza for being so eagle eyed on ebay
Now all that's required is to fit them, anyone good with a soldering iron

Follow the above, and you'll be sorted :D

Is there an alternative to this horn? Easier to fit/cheaper...?

The price didn't put me off so much, just more the ease of fitting. The soldering iron comment did it for me.

Because i'm fed up of the parp-parp, toy horn.

cw42 16 May 2006 08:53 PM

It's not hard to fit gaz, after getting the engineers at work to do the easy wiring bit, the fitting was very easy. Plenty of guides in this thread to see how easy it is. Go on, have a go :D

Only problem is, i don't have any engineers to help with the wiring or anything. And i've done nothing like this before... :(

But at the same time, i'm fed up with the gay-horn. Don't halfrauds do some kind of horn? I thought i remembered a thread about it some time back...

Will have to wait til 6pm when everyone leaves work before i can un-mute the PC to hear your MPG :)

cw42 17 May 2006 03:33 PM

:D the other option is to get an uprated horn from an independant, which is what Prosport did for mine on my classic :D

Will be kept topped up with tea/beer/biscuits and a crate of beer for their hard work! :thumb:

It's the first one, Lanarkshire i'm afraid. I would love to be going to the show this w/end, but i'm on daddy duty all w/end while the wifey goes and drinks herself to oblivion in Dublin for her b'day...

If you fancy a drive up, let me know, or you know any localers (that a word:wonder:) that would lend a hand.

Just bought a strut brace and front & rear ferrodos. So may as well get this, all good things come in 3's :lol1:

Wanna know i can fit it though before buying a new box for the loft.

cw42 18 May 2006 04:35 PM

your 205 miles away from me! :) bit far to fit a horn :D Don't know any locals that would do that, you'd be better off checking the scottish forum here or on the sidc :)
Good luck!

I got my kit when I went to the States for around £45...
However I still haven't gotten around to putting it in :(
Work too many hours :(

wrx_yank 30 September 2006 07:41 AM

i have these here in america and i bloody love them!!!!! the best is if some one crosses the street in front of you when you have a green light, just lay on these and watch them cringe!!!! or if some idiot in a honda talking on her cell phone (mobile) cuts you off ,lay on them and tell the bitch to hang it up !!! oh and group buys arent neccesary, you can get them on www.safedrives.com for 60 dollars american, or roughly 32.08 pounds british.... and if you are having trouble wiring them... any car stereo or audio shop can do it for fairly cheap.... make sure the relay is compleatly waterproof. i know it rains alot there, any bit of splash up will fry them solid....and the larger diameter wire you use , the louder they will be, junk wires will give you junk sound!:thumb:

here is some info on where to buy from!;)
