how long can toads/frogs live out of water for?

Just found one in my garage, I think it has been in there for a while now, how long can they live for without water ?

I can't catch him he is a bit too quick for me, and has hidden himself under the pool table !!

They can live for a fair while.

We used to have a 'pet' frog in the garage - we even left it a little tray of water. I guess it could get under the door when it wanted to, so it could get into the garden and eat flys and stuff.

I used to check under the car before I moved it, to make sure Kermit wasn't hiding under one of the wheels. It would have probably lived longer had I not reversed over it one morning... :(

My grandad had a frog which lived in his greenhouse for years, it used to disappear under the soil in hot weather, I think it must have ate flies or slugs to live :wonder:
