Pretty much. To be more specific, 10w-40 for standard or near standard classics, 10w-50 for modded or thrashed ones, 5w-40 for standard up to quite heavily modded new age, 10w-50 for heavily modded or track only new age.
So is that 10w-40 fully SYNTHETIC? |
|
Lol i new i'd get a commet like that. Normaly bugs me but seen so many others do it
|
Full synthetic is the best option

So which oil you think best for my classic, full stanless steel exhaust system?
If you rag it a lot then you can use a 10W-50 instead - which the CFS ^^^ also comes in. Fuchs Titan Pro S also comes in 10W-50 - equally good. |
Joz has it pretty much spot on, although the other 10w-40s I'd consider are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V and Redline.

They don't, necessarily.
5W-30, 5W-40 (or in some cases 5W-50), is usually a recomm. for the New Age engines. 10W-40 or 10W-50 is, allegedly, more suited to Classics. |
Ok sweet looks like i will go for 10w-40 Full synthetic then cheers
|
Yep, based on your car and the way you say you normally drive it, then the 10W-40 seems to be the one. :thumb:
