VXR220 how quick?

Just wondering what the VXR220 was like and how quick they are?
I had a play with one earlier today while out in my scooby, and was a bit disapointed that it wasnt as quick as I thought they were. I thought it would have pulled away from me in my scooby, but it was the other way round.
Are these not as quick as they should be?

they can be very quick, its all down to the roads. my wrx with a remap had no issues passing it

Was more than likely a VX220 rather than the quicker Turbo VXR220. Either way they are only 200 or 220bhp and 250 or 280lbs/ft Torque. Only thing they really have going for them is that fact they weigh less than 1000kgs.

With a remap on the Turbo VXR220 model they are brutally quick.

I'm not suprised in your flying machine.the vx would be no
match in standard form.same as a standard elise.may weigh less but not much power.

not very quick. I did my ARDS test in a VXR220 and it was horrid handling too.

I had a VX220T before my scooby and remember being unable to shake off an ordinary looking, but probably modded classic on a slip road joining a motorway. Lightness certainly helps, but as others have suggested, with its 200bhp standard tune many scoobies will keep up with it.

Power isn't everything though and what made it so special was the feedback it provided and preecision in handling. I'm surprised that Duncan wasn't too impressed on that front, as my VX handled beautifully and was so easy to place on the road. Perhaps the one he tried wasn't set up well. I had mine set up by plans motorsport, who specialise in lotus and VX and their geo changes utterly transformed the handling.

I caught one up a couple of years ago, and the guy went mental trying to get away, overtaking on blind corners.....
I let him go as I didn't want to hit the wreckage, but caught him again a mile or so later.

His face was a picture. (340bhp STI V7- sorry Tony !)
