checking BT cabinets for fibre?

My local exchange has been active for a few months now with fibre, however the cabinet I am connected to isn't active.

Is there a site where I can check for when the cabinet is due to be enabled? I have the bt site but that is only at exchange level.

Cheers

Nope.

I think you just need to keep an eye out for the larger BT cabinets.

Also, check the BT website to see if your postcode can get Infinity; once that's live, then it's a matter of waiting for the exchange to be enabled for LLU/equivalent for third party providers.

Cheers, further down the road they have the new style cabinet and that's been there for months, also checked postcodes on the road and they can get it. I am with sky and they have sent me a letter saying that my area is enabled, but unfortunately they are jut basing it off the exchange itself. Just hope that the cabinet I am serviced by gets enabled as I have read stories that they may not all be upgraded :(

If it doesnt have a date under the availablity section theres no plans to roll it out to where you are yet....

Usually if you check on the BT website it tells you. When our exchange got enabled, my cousin excitedly checked it as he has crap broadbad, but they weren't extending the fibre to his CAB, even though the exchange was done.

Mine is ordered, install on 3rd September, 71mb estimated muwahahah

jaytc2003 22 August 2013 10:09 AM

Ok, so I sent an email to nga.enquiries@openreach.co.uk

I gave them my postcode and house number, and luckily the cabinet I connect to is in the plans and is due to be done by Feb 14 however it is likely to be before that. :)

Should get decent speeds as I am probably about 100metres from the cabinet and have a good line to it

Got it in March. 5 meg to 75meg. We were estimated 62.
