Erm, it was. He basically but the Hawkeye front end/interior etc, onto a Bugeye shell which belonged to one of out club members

Rear lights and bumper seem to have escaped any damage considering it was 'heavily rear ended'....

You said you had to do some trimming, did you get any pics of the bits you trimmed, would have been useful reference for others, such as myself, looking at doing the Bug>hawk, got the Headlights and 1 wing so far!

Would the airbags not have gone off as well in a heavy rear ender?

Donor parts from another car perhaps? To get it 100% accurate, you'd have to match the lights and bumper from the hawkeye also.

why do people keep asking if it was rear ended or how come rear bumper aint damaged ???? if you look further up thread i managed to buy a rear bumper and lights off a hawkeye sport (cheap cheap) and used the boot lid off the bugeye also the airbags dont go off in a rear shunt often due to crash sensors mounted at front and side !!! also im a scooby breaker so have 100's of parts on the shelf including classic ,bugeye ,dropeye , and hawkeye .. so stop picking at things E-M-B as ive done it and you aint like it or lump it.... .

On the discussion of seats, I personally prefer the black and grey. Colour of the car,
I love the Skyline purple

Not sure about putting the STI badges on. Always reminds me of my youth when people were putting Cosworth badges on 2.0LX sierras LOL

Don't dress things up to make them look like something they are not.

Other than that a cracking job

absolutely brilliant, this thread cant possibly show how much work this must have taken so fair play to you. agree with daz though if its a wrx dont badge it as an sti, as soon as you lift the bonnet or take somone for a ride they will know its not a real sti. great transformation project

I hate to say this but it looks like a half arsed paint job. Not stripped the trims off or even bothered to take the headlights out. Will look great when its done but will probably deteriorate quite quickly and the lacquer will no doubt start to peal away at the edges of the trims.

Shame that so much work has gone into it to only cut corners on the most important part of the job.
