Default BC Racing Time Attack Impreza #6

Some of you will already have seen the birth of this project on facebook ... if you havent then you can follow it on:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/bcracingtimeattack

I will be posting updates, live results, videos, photos, testing etc on there very frequently and main updates, videos, photos on here.

Followiing an ongoing relationship with Bren and the team at Apex we have got together and given the car the full BC treatment for competing within Time Attack Club Pro class in 2011. This is a great move from my point of view and brings a much better level of support than I have ever had and hopefully even better chance of doing well within the ever competitive pro class. I am looking forward to working closely with the guys there over this season and getting some great results for the team

The car will be changing 'a little' from last year's spec but this was it at Cadwell late last year..

Yeah was quite pleased with that

The target is a genuine 700bhp for this year and to build on the set up of the car to help it put that to the track in the most effective way.

Obviously waiting on final info on the tyre choice for this year as we will be running on Pirelli Tyres as that will affect how the car is set up for each round.

Yeah me too

That is the target bhp but I don't want to sacrifice spool up or response for some figures on a graph so we (ie Mark at Lateral lol) are speccing a turbo specific to the job in hand.

I will of course continue to use my favoured E85 fuel so fingers crossed it will be a good balance of power, response and outright speed with just a squirt or two of Nitrous to help things along

Think Duncan is using race E85.

Question for you though Duncan, if you are using nos then why is the turbo spec so important ? Nos will look after the spool.

I dont want to have to rely on it Clive - will be running most of the time without NOS and just saving the gas for 'special occasions'

I have been VERY impressed with the BC ER series coilovers on mine and the other model ones in the many cars that I have mapped that have them on.

The flexibility of adjustment and also the ability to change spring rates easily is ideal for a track set up. With very little actual change to the car in 2010 it was around 2-3 seconds a lap quicker. part of that gain is down to the suspension.

So do I (and every other competitor in TA)

Pirelli really know how to make tyres but I hope we get the cream of the crop and show the real potential of the TA machines against the BTCC times - i never much liked the 888s - A048 are much better IMO but I am sure Pirelli can show a trick or two

Good luck Duncan.

I take it the suspension mods will involve some jiggery pokery with locating points and angles etc...?
