Your looking at the forest above Cwmbran, that is Cwmcarn scenic driver. Its absolutly stunning, the only problem its Tarmac.
Not to sure about Machen though.
It did make me laugh, when you sugested Cwmbran.
The past 7 years I've stage hopped trying to cram in as many as possible, but last year took the mic abit, we only saw up to the Suzuki's at Sweet Lamb before heading down to Walters Arena and ONLY JUST making it in time for the first car!
So this year I'll be picking a stage and staying there! Definately going to Port Talbot early, I've been the past two years and either been turned away by the police or turned around from the massive queue!
And let's face it, all the accidents usually happen lower down the field! Plus staying there for the day should make it more enjoyable/relaxing! How it should be!
i'm the same Nick. used to stage hop around but now go to a stage with the intention of watching both runs and not rushing round. use the time in between runs to cook some burgers and wander to another decent spot
Too stressful running about everywhere and seeing not a lot. Plan your weekend away, hopefully with the help of you know who's maps, always a great help plug plug please keep me on the mailing list Jon.
Get there in plenty of time steady walk to the the stage for the first run through obligatory arguement with the marshalls where and where not to stand.
Back to the car for some refreshments and ponder relocating within stage. Watch second run through then back to car for leisurely drive to next days stage taking fast food takeaway or what ever takes your fancy. Park up a bit of banter and nights sleep.

Phil, you're on the list dont panic!! And that sounds far from boring, sounds perfect to me!
Streve, keep nagging her, she'll be glaqd to see the back of you come October! (There's room in the car with us!)
Nick.. Oh nick.... nick nick nick.....(Where's the bloody countdown!!)
Shower, nah what's the point, the lovelly welsh weather does that for free (well it has the last two years...) teeth, brushed at the back of the car with freezing cold water that's been stuck in the boot overnight. Bit of a splash on the face with the same water, hat on, coat on, off into the trees!!! Job done!
Now when they releasing them tickets. Justinterested on the cost of this years event.
I see Swansea are moaning about loosing the service park too..
Those that camp overnight, what do you do shower/teeth wise? Just not bother?
Shower, clean teeth. Bloody hell Nick, try Le Mans.
1 week camping, in a carpark, not campsite, smelly toilets cold water only. Lots of beer, hot humid sticky. Let me tell you the ferry on the way home, one of the smellyest places in the world. I LOVE IT
Jon, dont think theres a chance, due date the 20th Oct, dont wont to be stuck in the Forest, withe Alex in labour
Just back to that article, what a load of crap. "Very very short notice" If I knew it was moving to Cardiff not long after alst year's event then they to will of known!
And the best line of the lot: "Cllr Thomas added: "The Welsh Assembly Government is the headline sponsor of the Wales Rally GB and we will be approaching ministers on the issue.""
Also "Wales Rally GB has been a feature of the World Rally Championship for seven years and in that time WAG and the WDA before it has invested significant sums of money improving the facilities at the Felindre site alongside the M4 and at SA1 where the Service Centre was based in 2008."
Improving SA1?
Pah and is it really a trek from Cardiff City centre to Bay? Thought not :P Complete dwoddle. The Wales/Rally GB honeymoon is over! :P
Shall reply to sleeping in the forests after I've calmed down :P
I tried posting this yesterday but there was an epic server fail!
Haha! I was only angry at Swansea for a short while! I am seeing my fav band in the world today, Feeder - so have spent the last few days trying to figure out trains :P
Anyway! Sleeping arrangements, sounds fun! However I'm not sure I could cope having to sleep in a car next to my Dad who hasn't showered for so long :P
I however see if we can stop over on Thursday night in the stages if we have a meet as one day wouldn't be so bad and it's a trek from Cardiff up to Aber so getting tot he stage would help on the Friday!
Hafren increased in length from 11.86 to 19.97 miles.
Resolfen and it's awful viewing points is gone, in comes a revamped Rhondda.
Walters Arena SSS is dropped.
Millennium Stadium is dropped.
Service moves from SA1 Waterfront to Cardiff Bay.
No mid-morning service on Sunday, just a re group between the two runs of Port Talbot and Rheola.
Looking at that list got me thinking- if there's a "revamped" Rhondda stage are they going to include the section where McRae binned it in the focus quite a few years ago??? That first uphill section onto the top of the hill used to be great- quite a few open corners where they could really cut once they were out of the trees. Here's hoping...
The funny thing is i was thinking about this but a few weeks ago, is October really that far away???
Great news about 2010 too, as it always should have been
