This is out of Focus C-max brought in with a clogged DPF.
Seems the DPF wasn't the only thing that was clogged.
It was also running off its own oil when revved hard.....I drained 2 litres of surplus oil out the sump that was contaminated with diesel due to the ECU constantly trying to regenerate the DPF.
It now has noisy lifters/cam followers (even after a oil change) - the camshafts won't last long now...another dead Duratorq/DV6. All through neglect....its barely done 60K miles FFS...the fleet cars I maintain with the same engines are on over 160K and going strong (6month oil changes though due to the annual mileage )

Our vans are leased, the van is telling me it needs a service so booked it in at the garage. The fleet company refused to pay for it and said there is another 20k miles in it yet and ignore the service light! Yet if we scratch it they expect us to pay for it out of our wages...

If it is, its a nightmare and won't be the garage's fault. This online system has to be the most needlessly over-complex online system ever conceived. Obviously created by IT people who have no clue about cars...or normal people at that. Its even beyond the comprehension of our (geeky) secretary, who usually has a good grasp of IT and car stuff. The detail required is just way over the top: For example we even have to enter serial numbers of tyres that require replacing and their replacements!!
We waste loads of time having to make sure what is entered is 100% as any anomaly and the finance company (or whoever pays for the work ) will reject the job...Like they won't even pay for screen wash additive...FFS its a £1!!!
I'm sure the leasing companies think its efficient and reduces costs or whatever but maybe that because we can't bill them for the time we waste sat at a computer instead of working on the actual car LOL. And if there is a issue that isn't black and white...like brake pads that "may" not last until the next service so we advise that they are replaced, but if they have more than a few mm of material left they'll automatically say no (because they think we're trying to rip them off), then when the pads wear to the metal backing and ruins the discs, we get the blame! Madness!
That particular Focus fleet we look after is isn't managed by 1link thank goodness...They are serviced as per manufacturer spec...every 12500 miles....which is every 4 to 6months with the average annual mileage they cover.

My van went in for MOT a few months back, wouldnt service it at the same time even though it would only be a month until it was due, just down to the mileage I do, and it makes sense to do it all at once to save having the vehicle off the road twice.
Refused to service it that time said book it in when light comes on, light comes on, refuse and say its fine for another 20k.
It failed its MOT, cracked windscreen, 4 bald tyres and a few other bits and peices, they had a kitten about getting it fixed, it took 3 weeks because alphabet would not authorise the garage to repair the tyres etc as they had a contract with halfords and demanded i drive it from the garage to halfords to get the tyres done!
Yes drive an illegal vehicle 20 miles to get some tyres done, I dont think so!
So I was rolling around in a brand new 14 plate t5 sportline for 3 weeks while they argued amongst themselves about who was going to change the tyres on my van, go figure, how has that saved any one any money?!

We had a van with a broken engine sat in storage for a month whilst they worked out who would fix it...they rejected us as our quote was too expensive apparently....suited us as we charged them daily storage fees.

The garage it was at ended up doing the tyres and windscreen, the lady from alphabet rang me up and asked me why if i knew these things needed doing did I not take it to an apprved supplier before the MOT.
my reply was -
"well I knew it would take you 3 weeks to argue about who was paying for it and i wanted a van without a tracker for 3 weeks"
She didnt know what to say to me

Well I've gone the soiled clothing, on the basis that a former owner might have been concerned about driving through a Chlorine gas cloud and so p!ssed on some clothing and added it to the box on the basis that it would neutralise the gas.
Somewhat poignantly I learnt this trick last week, on a visit to Ieper (Ypres).
Appears that the during the second gas attack of WWI a doctor with our great friends the Canadians knew enough about chemistry to tell them that p!ssing on their hankies and breathing through them would save their lives, bless 'em all.
(He was right btw).

Well in the other thread you said in one of your posts that "one of the above was close" or something like that so it has to be a item of clothing as that is the only thing that can match something in the poll.......well apart from a small person.
