Question

I would like to put a MY99 rear spoiler on my MY98 Impreza Turbo. Is this is wise Choice? Where is the best (cheapest) place to purchase one of these? I was quoted £280 from my local dealer (not sprayed or fitted). Is this reasonable?

How much has anyone paid to get the side skirts and moulded mud flaps sprayed? Is this a good job or do they stone chip easily?

I don't know what the retail price is for a 99MY rear spoiler, I'm not at work, but if you want one - why not?

Prices for painting will vary greatly with area, generally dealers quote by working out the hours a job will take, * labour rate, plus cost of paint/materials.

Normally it's best not to paint plastic that’s not new, as it's hard to remove all the silicones that make the paint peel.

Why not try on here for your spoiler, there must be a few that have upgraded to prodrive or scooby sport etc, and have the old one taking up space, or there's always the opposite - my dad took the 99MY off his car and put a 98MY one back on!! (He wants to keep it BTW)

If you want a quote to compare for spaying/supplying mail me with details/colour.

Hope this helps

David

I had my MY98 skirts and mirrors colour coded (red). They still look great after a year or so. It cost me 300 quid all in from the Subaru dealer, its all about the preparation. They advised me against having the handles done. I dont know about the mudflaps though.

After reading Sharks comments above, I must add that I mine sprayed from new and was advised to have them done soon rather than later for reasons above.

cheers

Don't know about the spoiler, but I was quoted £100 by Deer Leap to colour code the side skirts and orange thingies in the front on my new car.
