I am thinking of getting one of these as a nice alternative toi Defi gauges.
Has anyone got one and what do you think of it.
How does it connect and what colour is the display on the post 01 Black one

Hi Sideways, it connects via the OBD port under the steering column, display is the same as this one... http://www.psi3.co.uk/index.php?act=...d&productId=30

Seeing as your so close, if you visit us ( M5 J13 ) we will also fit free of charge.

Hi Simon, I remember the old secs ( Simon's Electronic Control System or something like that ) I didn't know if you were still involved in the company.
We have met several times last time probably early 03 when we went to power station for a RR day I used to have a blue Sti 7 when you had your black one.

I had one fitted in my 2001 MY Wagon. Proved a lifesaver.

CEL came on on a trip to Scotland, fault code came up. Called the local Subaru dealer, gave him the code, Crank Sensor in stock. 45 mins later carried on the journey

N00b questions:

How does it mount in the DIN pocket? Does it match up to the stereo mounting screws, or is it more complicated?

And does it need a power source from somewhere (presumably the live to the stereo) as well?

AFAIK it plugs into the select monitor port ( thats the dealer port ) and takes it power from there, it slots into the subaru pod which is single din and available to house the lamco gauge set.

Thanks for the replies

Sideways, PM replied to

Meidian, we use Subaru genuine parts for all of our monitors, the single DIN monitor is supplied already mounted in the black Subaru single DIN enclosure,( pod mount versions are supplied fitted in the Subaru pod )

The only connection needed is to the OBD socket under the steering column, as stated above this supplies all power and signal requirements, NO wires need cutting splicing etc.. fitment takes 20-30 minutes.

Any questions please feel free to mail or call. simonj@psi3.co.uk / 07796 992992
