You probably will get bad press, but it all depepnds on your environment, if there was a carjacking in Inverness, say, chances are it would be Jocks of the white variety. Wherever you live probably has a high ratio of Asians to other cultural sections of the public. Therefore there is more chance of being jacked by an Asian/Asians. Lets not tar one demographic for all the crime, when its obviously the Gypsies too!( the underlined is a joke, for anyone offended!)

The general public has a lot to answer for and are IMO to blame for these incidents. People just seems to close their doors when they see bad behavior. If these little sh!ts knew 100% that they would strung up by the people in their neighbourhood this crime would reduce. Either that or call the police and tell them who they are, without info the police cannot do a thing and yet they get blamed for high crime.

So pull your heads out yer arses Mr & Mrs Joe Bloggs and stick up for your neighbourhoods...

I agree. Its too hard to be an upstanding hardworking member of society, and all too easy to be a scrote, to be blunt. I dont blame people being too scared to stand up for themselves and their community, as all you will get is a blade between the ribs. Or no protection from the Police, and then the rollercoaster ride of having to now show your face when giving evidence in court. Its all going wrong.

This thread is getting a bit racial....lets all cool down a bit and think about the situation!

I am sure that the gang in this incident were indeed asian(if thats what the victims saw)...that doesn't mean that all asians are in gangs and (even if they are in a gang) that they would be as bad as this!

I work with all aspects of the community in my job and I can tell you that EVERY section of society has their scrotes and nasties! It just seems that these particular guys are much more organised!

I am just hoping that other(less hardcore crime) scrotes don't start getting the same idea....Car jacking is big in the USA in certain states....thing is....the UK is as big as 1 state!

With current car security....can't really blame them for coming up with this idea...as the car security becomes stronger, which part of the car is still weak, soft and less protected?

The driver.....I mean....they get the car, keys and anything else that might be in you're car on a day to day basis(laptop, phone, cash...etc)

Its easy pickings....just wonder what they are stealing them for?

Are they using them as parts?
Are they getting a few Scoobs so that they can do other crimes and get away from the cops?

I mean......the parts thing....with scoobs droppig soooooo much in price...I don't really know why they would be doing this....it would be much more lucrative to jack BMWs or VWs....or anything worth over 10k and these days....most cars can clear 10k! 20k with a lot on the road!

My bugeye was 5.7k....my g/fs 2002 Golf was more expensive! When I park at work....mine usually the cheapest car by a Looooonnnng way!!

If they are wanting to use them for other crimes.....I guess we need to just get big specs on our Scoobs so that we can get away! LOL!

What do 2.5 Forresters run? I reckon my WRX would get caught easy(standard spec)

Guy I met at a Scooby meet has this £200 system installed...can't remember what its called(will find out)....anyways,

......its three little black buttons witha certain sequence required. If you are getting jacked....you press two of the buttons and then get out of the car and let them speed off.....

......after a few minutes(they've probably gone quite far by now)... all of the instrument lights start flashing....then the outside lights flash....then the car missfires.......then it shuts down!

Genious!!!!and only £200(installed)

I guess they could just drive back in their car....and beat the code/sequence out of you!!!! LOL!

Maybe they should bring out a system that requires and engineer to come out the next day to reset it! That way....these jackers would soon get bored of Scoobs breaking down on them....especially if they can't even beat the code out of you!
If you press it by accident....then its tuff **** and you have to wait till next day for your baby back running again!
I would rather risk being p****d off for a night and have to get a lift than losing my pride all together.....

....yeah...they might torch the first few that they steal and can't drive far....but if everyone had the same system...they would soon get bored!

Or.........get a self destruct system installed.....they steal your car...get down the road and then EXPLODE....if they are gonna destroy them anyway...we may aswell beat them to the post and take a few of them in the process!

Think about it.....it would save millions in police manpower/time....millions in insurance....millions in repairs AND it would save millions in court costs, millions in jail food and upkeep etc!

One big bang and no-more jacker....you might even get two of them....

even better.....it wouldn't take long to rid the UK of these little twoccers!

thought blackjaxx (spelling) did something similar, i.e. allow them to drive a safe distance away from you, then just immobilizes the car, locks the doors, sets off alarm or something similar.
Anyways any more news on the car/scrotes involved Kosta?

Best thing you can do is to cut into the feed to the fuel pump, put a fuse inline (one of the push-in types) and mount the fuse by your kneecap.

If hi-jacked, just get out, turn the engine off and pulling the fuse out, the car will take a while to run dry when they drive off and they will be a few hundred yards away (you will now be on the phone to the Police as you exit stage left).

They will leave your car when it stops thinking it has some form of backjack or something ....... you may even be able to return when the police arrive and retrieve your car - the police will be there extremely quickly if you 'think' you saw a shotgun or other firearm and they are waving it about the street!!

Not being a pedant or anything, but when referring to the 2 letters, it should be typed as 2 L's.

A quick glance would have you reading -two Is

They'll be even quicker if you just tell the truth.

A car theft in progress will get an immediate response, any mention of firearms and the incident has to be risk assessed by firearms officers and the control room inspector.

Anything firearm related is risk assessed and takes much longer. A car 'jacking' with even the possibility of a firearm on board would require an ARV (armed response vehicle) to attend and as they're not as common can take much longer....

The flipside is that a 'normal' carjacking can be dealt with by a regular bobby including chasing the lil fe**rs...

A comfortable middle ground would be knives or other none
firearm type weapons...
