I thought I would post a reply on here instead:

4300k = Brilliant white - this gives the most visible light, it's what I run on my cars

6000k = Strong white with a hint of blue - the most popular choice

8000k = Strong blue tint - this gives the least amount of visible light of the three choices

Kits are for off road use. Nobody who has purchased any of our kits has had problems passing MOTs or had in problems with police. Been selling these for quite some time now.

You can order directly from the link: ScoobyNet Group Buy Specials - HIDs (Xenon) Lighting Kits (http://aztecperformance.co.uk/scoobynetgroupbuy.aspx) :thumb:

stupid question alert :

why are they illegal?

what is the differnce between the above kits and the units that are optional fit to most cars nower days?

whats makes factory fit Xenon lights legal?

and if you where to get hold of some JDM Xenon light units and fitted them to a UK car they wouldn't be illegal would they :wonder:

I have no issues with the context or words chosen in this thread.

Also, as always if someone wants to know further info about the legality I am always forthcoming.

Lets hope threads stay more like this in the future :)

For HIDs to be fully road compliant, you need projector units, self leveling and headlamp washers.

Nobody has every had an issue with any of our kits.

I'm guessing not many cars on this forum are 'fully legal' anyhow, what with exhausts etc (inc catted ones). ;) I know mine isn't.

was just wonder what made them illegal as i didn't think there was any difference between the bulbs.

didn't think about all the other bits that would be required

BOB'5 , can i just ask, whats the normal life of one of your bulbs? will these be a bulb ill never have to replace?

Bob; do you offer an 'H4' fitment which offers dipped beam only ie not moving and not including a cheesy little halogen bulb for 'main beam')? Im going to be using a yet-to-be-decided square/rectangular headlamp in an application that wont require a 'main' beam.

Hi Dan,

The manufacturer quotes that they last 10 times longer than halogen and only need replacing under extreme circumstances.

The first GB was run back in 2006 and there haven't been any replacement bulbs needed yet. :thumb:

If I can find a cheap projector light donor, thatll not cost too much from a dismantler, then I will need them in whatever bulb configuration used.

Simon (knowing nowt about projector type lamps)

Hi Simon,

We looking into replacement headlamp units on the classics with built in projectors. We have a couple here, but they need some tweaks.

This is to fit a Porsche 944 with 924 GTS/GTR type recessed headlamps (rising lamps replaced with clear covers over a conventional headlamp mounted where the light pod used to be).
