Today i travelled over 400miles and bought an 03 JDM STI. I sold my Uk STI last year and tried other things but i'm back. :norty:
I am looking to buy a 3" system including a de cat downpipe. The system is the same as the one i bought for my 03 STI UK car 18mths ago.
I contacted the company to check fitment and they have said the downpipe may need modified.
My question is what is different and what if anything will need modified.?
I know the JDM car is a twin scroll but how does this effect the downpipe.?
The twin scroll turbo has a totally different stud pattern on the hot side compared to your old STi.
Your supplier could make the downpipe by swapping with a twin scroll flange - but there are many other suppliers out there with ready made twin scroll downpipes.

The exhaust system is completely different due to the engine being twin scroll, the biggest being the downpipe.
Try Miltek for a decat pipe, or go for one of their sports cats ;) just remember that you will need to have the car remapped after fitting one.

Thanks,
I have looked at some opf the prices and they are over twice as much as i paid for the system on the UK STI. My car will be De cat completely.
Is there ayone else that makes it.

If your after saving cash you could buy a twin scroll down pipe from say hayward and scott, the centre pipe is the same as a classic shape impreza so loads are for sale cheap then any newage backbox would do :)

Ouch! for an exhaust.. i could stomach that bill. Not that i dont have the coin just.. well....... its just a fooking pipe!
There have been a few cars since the Black 03 Uk STI - Evo6, Clio Trophy, Skyline GTR, now back to the STI.
I am happy and settled now. The STI did everything i wanted it to and i finally have the GTR out of my system. God that thing was amazing.. pitty a wall got in the way of it.! never mind.. things have worked out very well.

Why not just go the whole hog and buy the Milltek 3"? About £650 odd quid.

The Evo was a nice car, just way to thursty for the performance it gave. The Trophy was ok in the fact it was a newish car... but Evo mag must have been driving a very special one cos i wouldnt have another nor would i recomend one to my worst enemy. I didnt have any mechanical probs etc, just not the right car for me.
BTW, contacted Ian at Hayward and Scott and bought one of there exhausts.
Lovely.!:thumb:
