Petition for Lewis Hamilton and McLaren
for those of you that watched the race at the weekend, you will have been as shoked as i was to find out that letis has been droped to 3rd place by being given a 25 second penality.
if you didnt see the race you can watch the highlights here
Track Highlights - Video - F1 | ITV Sport
and the reason the stewards have given for the penality is just a joke.
Niki Lauda also seems quite upset
Lauda: Lewis penalty will harm F1 - F1 | ITV Sport
and here is a bit about the statement the stewards gave
Have The Stewards Made An Error Of Fact? - Planet-F1 News - from planet-f1.com
which should have ment that kimi should have been given a penalty for going all the way round the outside of one of the corners and giving himself a good run at hamilton, even though he then stuffed it in to the wall.

Signed! Glad to see so many agree that it was a totally biased decision.
Would be nice to see all 17000 signatures printed out and presented to the FIA.

spoke to my friend who works for str last night and they think that he will get re-instated because of the start line data showing raikkonen as faster, therefore determining that hamilton got his advantage purely in acceleration.
i like the point about kimi's advantage by sweeping round the outside before he crashed!

In other words, Hamilton was purely and simply punished for leaving the racetrack when he cut the chicane, In that case then nearly every driver in every race should be punished, For Gods sake it was a racing incident

He cut the chicane gained an advantage end of !!! The problem as far as i could see is that he didn't give it back he barely let the farrari back past. He should have given the Farrari at least a couple of car and the powers that be would have had a case.

he didnt gain the advantage, hes car data says he slowed for riakanoonoo and let him pass, he then overtook on the next corner, where if you slow the footage down you will see that riakanoonoo tries to ram him as he goes past!!

Your right and also the in car info says Kimi had more speed when he crossed the line. And Kimi did RAM him from behind clearly trying to spin him.....

It says to let the car back past but it does not state by how much - he was clearly behind and showed 6km/h slower speed over the start line - therefore what advantage did he still have?
It's only because Kimi looked to try to brake test him to make him crash out by braking far too early for the first corner that Lewis dipped inside and took the corner.
Coming up to the chicane Lewis was alongside or ahead (depending on where you measure this at), therefore you could conclude that any giving back any advantage would be to be still alongside him.
Strange decision and I am sure it will not be the last of them.

true, but unlike football players they do put thier lives at risk ever so slightly more, i think they are far more deserving of the money than someone kicking a ball around, and hamilton and maclaren are always getting picked on, seems to me like ferrari are controlling the sport, maybe the mafia are involved

Getting back on subject, i remember years ago when Damon Hill got taken out of a race by Schumaker accidentaly on purpose robbing Damon Hill of the championship but i can't remember if Schumaker recieved any form of punishment. Most drivers gave Schumaker too much respect and nobody would dare to race him and he could virtually do anything with impunity.
Regarding Lewis Hamiltons case, i usually dispise anyone who plays the racial card but in this case i can't help thinking that this is a blatant case of discrimination.
