People need to chill, its a big undertaking what Chris and Neil have done and I think a massive thanks should go to both to try and advertise the community and its spirit.

Orders have been printed this morning , now all I need to do is to find envelopes big enough for them, sort out the stamps and get posting.

Just a quick note. PM's will be coming to those who ordered BOTH internal & External to enquire if they are happy to wait until the order is complete as the internal ones are not due for a week and a bit.

Also I had a few odd orders that have no details on them, no quantities etc so I am trying to find out what was needed.

Expect them all soon guys and can I just say a big thank you to all of those who ordered. I hope you like them

Phil

you actually ordered in two separate transactions so you have paid for postage twice therefore you get the external ones first and then the internal ones when they come in. I am talking about the people who ordered both styles on ONE order and so only paid for one postage.

Well if you paid by paypal then it would have your full name and email address on it so I can track your order if you want to PM me. Obviously it all depends on which sticker you chose, internal or external

**************** Website changes ****************

The Good news first Okay the first external stickers went out today and so you should be all getting them very shortly, by tomorrow if not wednesday. They will arrive in a plain LARGE brown envelope.

Now the bad news Because they are so large (in length) I did not anticipate this when we did the pricing for the stickers and so the only envelopes that will fit are huge oversize A4 which means the postage is a staggering rip off by RM. I do apologise for this but have soaked up the cost of the first order. Unfortunately any orders which are placed from today will incur the higher charge. This is purely to cover the costs of the postage and does not increase any profit ( there was none anyway ) so I hope you understand.

I am still awaiting news on the internal ones so will keep you posted as and when I hear

Ok folks just my general guide for fitting

Just to point out you dont need to use water for the scoobynet small logos, they will fit better dry

How to fit vinyl graphics and decals

Car decals consist of three layers. The first or top layer of the decal is the clear plastic that holds the entire graphic together until it is installed on a car (its removed once fitted). The middle layer is the actual decal that adheres to the car and the bottom layer is the paper backing that preserves the adhesive. Ideally somewhere room temperature is needed to fit graphics, its not necessary, but graphics should be fitted in very cold conditions as it will stop the graphics from adhering correctly

Adding vinyl graphics to your car couldnt be simpler, just follow the instructions below:

Items you will need include:

Your vinyl sticker/decal
Spray bottle filled with water adn a little washing up liquid (used for larger graphics mainly)
Hairdryer (if using water)
Applicator (store or bank cards can also be used)
Craft Knife if trimming is required

Step By Step DIY Instructions:

1. Completely clean the outside of your car or the decal application area to remove any grease or dust particles that may prevent the decal from sticking to the surface. Make sure when you dry the car that you use a lint free cloth.

* Never use harsh ammonia based cleaning products (i.e. Window Cleaner), they will cause your decals to bubble and peel a few weeks after application.

2. Test fit the decal on your car to figure out exactly where you want to apply the graphic with all 3 layers intact.

3. If required, use your spray bottle to wet the area where you are applying the sticker. Make sure there are no dry areas.

4. Peel the paper backing off of the decal to expose the adhesive side. Do not peel the top layer off just yet. If the paper backing doesnt come away first time, lay the decal down flat and apply pressure face down (this makes sure there is a good bond between the top clear layer and the decal itself making it easier for the paper layer to peel away.

5. Put the sticky side of the decal to the surface of the car where you want it applied. If you have wet the decal, you can slide the decal around gently to make any adjustments until it is properly placed in the area you selected. Be careful not to rip it.

* We recommend when applying larger graphics that you recruit a friend or two to help so avoid putting creases into the vinyl.

6. Using your Applicator, work all of the fluid and bubbles from the vinyl starting at the center and working your way out to the edges. Repeat the process a couple of times if necessary to get all of the soap water and trapped air from underneath the decal making sure their is a good bond with where you are adhering to. If fitting, this is still required to bond the sticker to the surface and work out any bubbles

7. Next step is to remove the clear top application layer slowly peeling it straight across to reveal the decal. If the vinyl peels off when removing the top layer, go back to the previous step making sure you have applied enough pressure for the sticker to adhere correctly.

8. With the vinyl on your car, if needed trim any edges with excess vinyl using a sharp tool such as a craft knife. To tuck the edges around doors and petrol caps, pinch the edges to form it into place.

10. Finally give the decal a gentle quick wipe over with a dry cloth if you have used water, we suggest you wait 24 hours before washing, waxing or driving through rain/snow or adjusting windows if stickers are fitted to them.

11. Stand back and admire your handy work, if you are able to, why not take a picture and email it to us at neil@stickmeup.co.uk and we will happily add it to our Work completed pages or onto this thread for others to see.

Any questions or problems with the vinyl please let us know, but please take your time in fitting these

Thankyou for your purchase

So just to clarify all of above applies to external stickers only then. Although using a card to get the bubbles out applies to internal to I guess.

No still applies to internal stickers, as the sticker is reversed for fitting so it all works the same way, but again you dont add water

Well I am glad that people have started receiving them. After the chaos that I had over the CM stickers and Royal Mail,I was worried that we would have a repeat of that. But if they have started arriving then great

Bloody idiot. That is why I chose that envelope so that the sticker would not have to be folder. He obviously folded it so he stuff it through the letterbox

Mine was folded as well but went on fine, PHEW!

As a postie myself I have to side with the RM as large envelopes are a pain to us (except when I'm receiving them ) We are allowed to fold large envelopes to fit them through the door (and also into the fittings we sort into). The only way to stop this is to put on the front of the envelope DO NOT BEND. That way if it does get bent (which it shouldn't) you have some comeback!

Call it my 'tip of the day'
