Default How much for a 50,000 mile service

Hi,

How much does it cost for the `big` 50,000 mile service from a Subaru dealer?

Thanks

You will be looking in the region of £650 if my last experience was anything to go by. But its one of the ones that you have to get done on the button.
Cant skimp on a cambelt.

What MY car is it? The 50k is a cambelt and oil change on Newage cars. The 60k is all fluids. 90k is the big one on Classics.

If you have a newage car.

The good news - 50,000 isn't the big service. Its the basic service + cam belt and cost me £350 all in.

The Bad news - 60,000 is the big service , which your looking at approx £500.

Sorry, I should have said, my car is a 2005 Impreza WRX PPP. The Car has done 27,000 miles but has had the 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 40,000 mile services already. So I would be right in saying it needs the 50,000 mile service?

Wolfie - was your 50,000 miles service at a Subaru dealer? The reason I ask is, I brought my car in April 2008 from a Subaru dealer and it is still under warrenty, hence why I want it to go back to a Subaru dealer just in case any other work needs doing.

by the milage i take it u are goin on the monthly service interval instead of the milage !

if the car has only done 27k then why dont u just get an oil service (filter , oil , checkover ect ) it has been well/over serviced , but is good .

imo just get them to check over the car and do lights levels + oil /filter

it wouldnt be ready for a 50k just yet or even a 30k imo

remember the dealers are 12k or 12 months service so even if u did 1 mile in 12 months u are technically due a service

Blimey! Previous owner seems a bit over keen. Did he have a nice fluffy blanket to wrap it in at night? As mentioned, I would just get back on track and have a standard oil filter and check over service. Mind you, with such a low mileage for so many services it may not even need that really. Cambelt service isn't til 60k so you've got plenty of time to get saving.

I thought belt changes were age related as well as mileage.

Me too. And the new age cambelt change is due at 50k miles/5 years, not 60k as mentioned in the quote above.

I'm in a similar position - I have an 05 STI PPP that has done 15k miles and is due its 40k/4 year service next month. I would personally rather stick to the recommended Subaru service intervals, but agree that it's probably overkill.

scoobyworld do cambelt changes for £235.

However, as the belts at the front - i would imagine is not that bad a job to do yourself if your relatively competant

I have been quoted £341.60 for a 50000 mile service with genuine filter , belt, coolant change, and Castrol Edge sport Engine Oil. Subaru specialist (slowboy Racing)
Very happy with that quote And also said I could supply my own oil if I wanted.

I have got my 50,000 this september and i am only on 31000 miles but to have it done is not a great cost to having a rebuild because you think it may go abit further. They do also go in time just like tyres do when they start to crack on the side walls even though the mileage done isnt high. Each to their own end of the day.
