Default whats that weird noise

whats that weird noise from highly modded subarus. You hear it when they change gear and sounds like it replaces the noise the dump valve makes.
I asked a couple of people at the scoobysprint and they didnt know either.

That my friend is pigeon, also known as wastegate chatter. For extra pigeon turn the boost up, bin the dump valve and fit an induction kit.

Please note. doing all of the above just for noise is not advisable as it could quite easily blow your motor.

Aw gawd not again !

LOL

That noise, my friend is the sound of stalling air, as it parts company from the leading edge of the compressor blades in the turbo....

Mine does it MINT ! ( MD321H), a silicon intake has magnified the noise too !

The WYIOC are having a photo/video shoot this coming week, but I'll try and Youtube a sample if possible.

HTH

Wategate chatter my arse! THERE IS NO SUCH THING!!!!!

It's compressed air passing over the turbo blades the wrong way causing stall and the noise. Simply run with no dump valve and you will get it, not great for the turbo though.
