Default Downpipe gains on newage? and a few other Qs

Have some questions regarding a decat downpipe.

1- Will I need to to remap the car straightaway after fitting a decat downpipe?

2- What are the gains to be had? I read somewhere that it can add 20-30bhp That seems to me a bit optimistic

3- Will this Scoobyworld Afterburner decat downpipe mate with a Blitz Nur Spec R system?

1 - it is very adviseable as it could overboost and that can be harmful

2 - with the remap yes for definite. Can be more than that.

3 - Is yours an 06/07 ? it should fit but there is always a danger when mixing and matching exhaust components that they wont mate up. Safest bet is to get a full system from the same mfr.

1) Yes.
2) With a full decat, panel filter and remap, you should be circa 320-330bhp. (Presuming STi)
3) I'm sure all 2.5" systems mate to other 2.5" systems. It's only the diameter differences that cause problems, or using from older models. My first mod was a full afterburner decat with a ninja backbox. Welcome the noise!!

1. On the newage cars i believe a remap may be necessary as the cel may start to appear.
2. It will allow the turbo to spool up quicker,my car gained 28 bhp,but that was full decat+ vortex, - downpipe alone maybe 10 -15 bhp - without remap..
3. Yes the scoobyworld afterburner decat will mate to blitz nur spec r(3 inch diameter to 2.5 ",but to remove all the cats you might need the short cat pipe that connects to the centre section first.

Will I need to remap it straight away once the decat downpipe has been fitted?

I'm going to get it done at Hayward and Scott. But won't be able to remap it until a week later.

Was thinking to drive it off boost (below 3k) until the map, is this safe?

You'll be more than fine taking it easy with the decat on.
