I flew down to Hayward and scott, who got one made up while was on route, and after a couple of big incidents this morning I haven't missed that much track time, roll on the afternoon session

what was the original db readout?
and what is the limit for the day?
a bung can only do so much.
I had to buy a new system to be safe on track days. Ganador Titan for weekend noisy fun, HKS Silent Hi-Power for track day use!

its time we all start looking for a aftermarket silent system
we need to copy what BMW and Mercedes do and have a twin pipe system all the way to the rear box, will make it more silent due to smaller bore size but will still flow the same due to 2 pipes if that makes sence

We supply Milltek for the new age cars, no loss of power, certainly up to 400 bhp from a 2.5 and an easy track day pass.
We also give 10% off!

For instance, my decat 3" Milltek on an MY05 2.0 JDM STi static at 3/4 revs was 97db and 93db at 4k revs ... and on driveby I've had a warning at 103db once the car had got very hot.
I am lead to believe it doesn't help that it is a twin scroll turbo .. and was decatted (now rectified) .. but I don't go on any track days where the noise limit is less than 100db anymore ... even though I have one of Milltek/litchields directional bungs.

Ok, the days limit was 102db, my first attempt at 4500/5000rpm came in at 112db on there machine. They went nuts! So made a call and got my bung made and fitted by the time in turnt up ( I must say these guys did a great job on making something up so quick) anyway the second retest came in at 104db, and he said keep the noise down in the pits and you should be ok. Car seemed a bit less responsive but I loved every minute and gradully got my car up to a decent speed around the track. Day wasn't all sucess tho, as there was a few incidents, track got really busy and ended up with my mate getting his focus rs smashed up by a guy in a caterham losing control off the back straight coming into the first bend!
But for me, a great day

And as for future events, il be getting a new back box fitted, with an optional bung too give me plenty of option with noise.
Also thanks Aztec performance for the brakes, a huge improvement over the cheap crap the preivious owner put on, and didn't have any fading issues.
Will post my pics and info later
