Default 555 WRX STI TYPE R ?

evening guys,
wondering if my Type R is a 555 ltd? i have the 555 seats and correct door cards (it seems) is there anything more i can look at to find out more ? and in what ways it was different? oh its a V3 in white. its chassis is GC8D2DD. looking at this chart the engine 300, i thought all the imports were 280.

I believe Subaru made 555 of your car in total to celebrate a rally title, other than the seats and the badge on the back Im pretty sure it is identical to any other V3 type R.

Also available at the time was a STI type R signature edition. Again, same as any other V3 type R but with yellow paint and dark anthracite wheels.

Well I'm not sure, maybe all V3 type R's have the 555 branded seats then. I know all the cars I've seen advertised as '555' have been blue.

Where's Tony when you need him, lol.
Probably making love to his spec C again.......

it really only matters if this is a rare model you see. in the chart i posted up, i wasnt the one who put the ????? next to the 555 V3 type r. so seems someone has came across the model before ! i never knew it existed myself. think it came off scoobypedia.

To clarify the boot badge:

A scan from the official brochure for the car.

A rough translation of number 10:

World champion emblem rear Memorial ® '96WRC a target a WRX STi (certified FIA)

On the v3 sti type r i have sat on my drive there is no boot badge, just 555 logo on the seats.

Now some later models have it but mine does not and i have seen at least 2 others that have no boot badge, and mine is a blue 97 model.

The MY97 Type R was built to order from Jan 1997, so I cannot help with numbers manufactured.
They all had the boot roundel celebrating the 1996 manufacturers championship victory & 555 seats.

Yes.

I'm currently in the process of scanning all my brochures & will be uploading them on the RA site once I've finished. This should hopefully help clear some of the confusion.

Don't hold your breath - it will take a while!

The STI V3 type R was built from September 1996 until August 1997.
The cars built in 96 are no different to cars built in 97, they are all MY-D series cars.

Your car is not a 555 special I don't think, from more research it appears the limited run of 555 cars were all blue.
The yellow cars were signature editions.

shall i change model year back to 96?
sure i looked into all this couple of years back.
all 555 ltds were 4 door and in 555 blue.
i cant explain the seats and badging, but if all were meant to have them...
so what is my model year?
