Harvey - RIP
This is Dawn, Harvey's wife.
Harvey was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night having suffered a heart
attack at home. He had been feeling unwell and went to bed. I went to
check on him about a hour or so later and presumed he was asleep. I checked again later and when I looked closer his lips were blue and he was not breathing. I have no idea how long he had been like that for. Harvey passed away at 9:45pm on Wednesday night. He suffered massive organ failure due to the lack of oxygen when his heart stopped.
He was my Husband and best friend and I am going to miss him terribly.
Take care and please, for me, when you go home tonight, give your loved ones a hug. You never know what is round the corner.
Best Wishes
Dawn.

This is terrible news!
Like so many in this community I have known him for many years and he was certainly a character that provided a great addition to many of the tuning topics discussed.
I sincerely wish you and your family Dawn, condolences during this sad time.
Please take assurances that Harvey will certainly not be forgotten within this community!

Hi Dawn
I was hoping and praying for a miracle for you after receiving your email wednesday morning and am saddened to hear he didn't make it .
Harvey was one of the nicest down to earth people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting , and this place , and the world will be a poorer place without him , he always had time to talk , always had time to give advice if it was ever needed , you couldn't of wished for a more helpful guy.
HARVEY SMITH M.B.E , rest in peace my friend.

Harvey was an inspiration to me and we had many good chats on subaru development
He was one of the all time greats in the Subaru community and will be missed greatly by so many
He was always a wagon fan as he once told me that his beloved dog used to like to sit in the back and watch the following traffic get smaller
RIP Harvey Smith

Awful news, thoughts are with Dawn, family and friends.
I had quite a few emails with Harvey, he was a genuine bloke, giving good advice and always happy to help - no matter how silly the question was!
Rest In Peace Harvey.
The community has lost a gem.

Very sorry to hear of your loss Dawn. Harvey has been one of the cornerstones of Subaru tuning and was never shy in giving his usually very concise opinion and was always approachable for a chat. Very sad....
