Yes I've tried normal car wax on my wheels too, made no difference to keeping them cleaner longer. They looked good for a couple of days but the paint used is not shiny to begin with. I use my car wax on my exhaust some times which does help oddly as that gets extremely hot or may be it's just not exposed to as much muck as wheels are such as brake dust etc but it's still nice and shiny even after a month, apart from the very tip which will get a bit caked with exhaust fumes.

I'll have to look at these other recommended wheel waxes. Does Halfords sell any or are they only available online?
