It had such a bad reputation that it bought Branson's name (and reputation) to give it credibility.

It had fibre optic years ago, but ran out of money and only the higher populated areas had it, yet the company still advertised the fastest and best. Those who fell for it ended up with broadband via telephone line, 1-2mb when ntl:/VM were claiming up to 20 on fibre.
