They are trying to replicate the same design process as the old Compact. Build to a budget, say it will be Golf/Focus prices then massively overprice it
Far better specc'd cars for the same money with room, flair and no repmobile image. The 3 series was outselling the old Mondeo FFS, the new Dagenham Dave machine
