would be worth looking into,im no expert but i do know the law has changed in the past few months.maybe its just for northern irish drivers im not trying to be the bearer of grim news but i hold a full uk driving licence the very same as the one you hold,can't see why they can enforce points on me and not another person who lives in the united kingdom with the same licence.
